Agreed. Swearing in itself is a manifestation of our culture really. We swear as a result of other people swearing, because of stress, or just to have the freedom to say it whenever. As a result, it would feel out of place as a theme in any adult cartoon. If anything, overdoing it in an adult cartoon makes it feel uncanny at times.
I agree. Take Pantheon, for example. You’d think that because it’s an “adult cartoon”, they’d put Chanda, the adult character who plays a big role in the show, to be under the spotlight more. But nope, more than half of the show revolves around teen drama involving Maddie and Caspian.
>no good morals to be found whatsoever >bright, colorful pbs kids tier color palettes >language so mild you wonder why they bother with ratings above PG >generic, cookie cutter character archetypes you seen a million times wearing different skin suits >never showing anything except gore and violence >no frontal nudity, no sex, fucking pan that camera up and censor it
Your description literally describes this show to a tee. It is, beat for beat, a Cartoon Network show- but with red splotches and naughty language. What adults crave
There are a bunch >Duckman >The Critic >Mission Hill >Oblongs >Moral Orel >Classic Simpsons >The original run of Futurama >Classic South Park >Venture Bros >Metalocalypse >King of the Hill
And that's just what immediately comes to mind
Because appealing to the lowest common denominator will always be lucrative. Why go through the time, money, and effort required to produce something thought provoking that discusses deep topics or even just adult subjects with nuance when you can produce something with over the top violence, bathroom humor, and tons of swearing regardless if it's warranted when the latter is guarantied to produce an audience while the former isn't? Most cartoons, until recently, have been produced by executives in big studios and they think corporately.
because you touch yourself at night
Because adults don't watch cartoons
There was a bunch of them
All on Adult Swim, all cancelled prematurely, and all overshadowed by Dick and Homorty
Cartoons are for children.
Because Family Guy killed the genre
Because all of them have ratings that can be as low as TV-Y7 for content that would guarantee a live-action show at least a PG.
They should really call it tween or teen cartoons because they're hardly for adults nowadays.
Even actual "adult" shows aren't really for adults. Sex, violence, and cursing do not automatically equal "mature".

It would feel out of place as in if there was no swearing at all.

There's South Park, at least. It's like (Global Rule 15) but for adults in terms of pop culture relevance and quality.
They're rated TV-14, so they're technically teenage cartoons purported as adult cartoons.

Don't forget Brickleberry
i vouch for the quality of venture bros. sometimes it's Too manly but it doesn't get in the way of enjoying the story that much
>Too manly
???
Moral Orel was shitty trite "actually no one was ever happy" trash

Lastman?
Boondocks, F is for Family, Venture Bros, Moral Orel, King of the Hill, Peak Simpsons, all good
Because when Family Guy got popular around 2004, it collectively lowered the bar for all adult cartoons after it.
