They're giant homosexuals, but casuals? By your definition there are what a dozen comic fans that aren't casual?
why do they shit on Brandon Choi so much
I want to beat them up, I could physically take them both and all their friends at the same damn time
they are butthole nerds and jealous of based Brandon's success and wealth
His writing sucks.
Rugg is much better than Piskor.
Yeah when are they going to talk about Domino Books, Koyama and NYRC?
What does that word "kayfabe" even mean? What language is it?
moronic wrestling lingo, same cringey shit as 'bodied' and 'jobber'. It never sounds not embarassing coming from someone's mouth
Bodied is fgc not wrestling, I'm pretty sure.
>What language is it?
Wrestling.
It means to stay in character.
Why is Ed Piskor given a free pass for culturally appropriating black culture and using it to profit?
cause he israeli
so hes a white democrat... got it.
By Comics Youtube standards, they're way better than comics casuals
>its a Piskor starts talking in slang for 2 minutes episode
>Jim just stays silent the whole time and goes "..yeah and" afterwards
>casual
>literally go into more depth that 99% of other comics youtube
>other comics youtube is mostly people telling normies what House of M was and shit
>Kayfabe at least has enough varied content to appeal a bit to nostalgia but also to look at good art and good shit
I think OP might actually be the real casual
How does Cinemaphile feel about comicsbyperch
he's alright. He has his own biases but at least he's not drinking the SJW or Comicsgate Kool-Aid completely
For me it's caped joel
Americans are comic casuals by rule.
t. casual that doesn't actually read manga
Shut up, most you homies only read shounen and don't even know alt manga and shit.
Ed Piskor is a racist
>draws the most autistic essay on the 70s bronx party scene there is
>racist
u dum dum
I'm sure my friend's uncle could make a more authentic one than some sheltered white kid.
seems the racist here is you senpai
I met Jim once and he was really nice to me so
Erik Larsen too
Frank Cho let people paw through a stack of his originals two feet high
Anyway yeah I like when they go through old Wizards but they single handedly fubar’d the market for 90s fan magazines, you could get Comic Scenes and shit for less than cover price for like 20 years, that’s over with
>Anyway yeah I like when they go through old Wizards but they single handedly fubar’d the market for 90s fan magazines, you could get Comic Scenes and shit for less than cover price for like 20 years, that’s over with
Is that why the prices on them have gone way up? That's fricked up.
The “Kayfabe Effect” is real, I went to order an art book they mentioned once just after the video posted, found several copies each on eBay and Thriftbooks, and while I was deciding which seller to buy from they all poofed away
I got into them in the beginning of quarantine and would buy a lot of what they talked about but over the last two years the effect has become very real
At least they know what they are talking about since they actually work in the industry. That being said : image comics were always awful
Rugg is legitimately good, Piskor is trash who hides behind ironic bad drawing. he shits on people who can put out a regular page book a month but can only get away with hiding his mediocre and static art through filters and slathering shit with ink. He's got a big fricking mouth. Seeing him misunderstand basic writing in Maus was amusing.
Hey Ramon
>Casuals
>Talks about books with print runs so goddamn small you most likely won't find a copy
Ok.
Why are all american/euro comic reviewers aged 40 years old at the youngest?
Do young people not read Marvel/DC/eurocomics?
No one reads comics
Casually Comics is like 29 years old and started at 25 or so.
nice, new channel
For one wouldn’t you want someone with some life experience? But I think young people are on like TikTok and shit
no
no
no
young people in the USA read:
webtoons top comics
schoolastics classics
popular fantagraphics graphic novels (rarely).
SJWs and outrage farming pretty much destroyed old guard comic books, and the new guard doesn't discuss comics like we do on Cinemaphile
Cinemaphile might as well be called the boomer comics community
>pirates
>Rips off a far better edited and speaking Youtuber who to the point and doesn't drag things out for views.
Both of these guys suck but it’s funny that you choose one of the most well trodden, vapid, stupid topics that’s been done to death for the last sixty years. Nobody cares, Wizard magazine talked about this in the 90s
>Cries about someone ripping him off when he did same thing....twice or more.
Is covering a subject really a "rip-off"? Or did he actually lift lines from the videos?
They're almost the same, well Doom Patrol/X-Men one and the dates aren't far apart.
I've gotten more good comic recommendations from these guys than I have in ten years of browsing Cinemaphile, so maybe you guys are the casuals.
OP is someone with an axe to grind against them I think
>calls CK casuals
>posting on a board that exclusively consists of pedophiles talking about childrens cartoons and the occasional thread about comics that dies and disappears immediately
Thank god for the anon that posts the TCJ threads or there would literally be no discussion about comics on Cinemaphile that’s not crying over new comics. Even though those threads always have maybe three comments
>TCJ threads
the... what?
Someone frequently posts old articles from The Comics Journal. You post on Cinemaphile so I’m guessing you’ve never heard of TCJ
im not american so yes
The TCJ threads usually sink straight to page 10 so you have to lurk a while to see one, or go digging in the archives.
Really hate how they shit on Dennis O'Neil
PAD and Roy Thomas have put out better comics than either one of them
