Why aren't there any cartoon series with super powered teens who fight a Rogues Gallery of villains while juggling school and fighting bad guys anymore?
Why aren't there any cartoon series with super powered teens who fight a Rogues Gallery of villains while juggling school and fighting bad guys anymore?
Because it's not the fad anymore.
So, all we're going to get is shitty slice of life and animated soap operas where characters talk about their feelings for 11 minutes?
Yeah, get used to it buddy.
Frick you
These days most cartoons are made for people who want to live like teens instead of actual teens. Like the owl house or Craig of the creek.
Why? I never watch them. I would rather watch a single good independent animation per year. Like long gone Gulch
Remember back when kids used to go outside and play? Studios had to attract them to the TV by having the protagonist be impressive in some manner, while also making them relateable by having them go to school and deal with normal stuff.
Nowadays kids are stuck to their phones and don't really play so studios have to attract the kids to the TV by showing them what it's like outside, and giving them power fantasies such as hanging out with friends and making the protagonist relatable by having them deal with their quirky mental disability.
>power fantasies such as hanging out with friends
kek
Hanging out with friends is considered a power fantasy?
You'll be surprised how a lot of shows or cartoons that rely on ''friends doing dumb shit together'' are popular due to the chemistry between characters and how people desire friends like that.
......There are also shippers but thats another story.
Huh, I didn't know that
Because you have to make an original action cartoon idea from scratch and create a whole world around it. Execs don’t want that, it’s too much work and effort. If you want to get your shit made, you gotta make it basic as possible and, if you’re lucky, you stealthily input that in the show
You’re put in charge of making a kid/teen superhero show you’re limitations is that it has to be at least PG rated and as marketable as possible so toys can be made from it. What’s your premise?
Kid has the ability to manipulate spoons with his mind, but his power is limited exclusively to spoons. In order to fight various monsters of the week, he must push the limits of his spoon powers.
Because if you do that peiple would be b***hing for being "another one" and saying that is a ripoff of the established ones
The Spider-Man genre is dead. We now have fake anime starring undearge girls
Ben obviously is the leader because he's the strongest, why are they mad? If they know him well enough to be annoyed by him then they've probably been saved by him a lot
>the leader is whoever is the strongest
this has to be bait
I'd probably peg Kim as the leader if anyone, though Ben is definitely the most flexible powerhouse of the group.
Danny or Kim would be the leader 99% of the time, Ben is only becomes the leader when shit hits the fan.
Besides Star and Steven who can be added here
Kid Cosmic
There are no teen oriented cartoons anymore, only adult and children. Probably because teens just have the internet and watch adult cartoons now.
Like Power Rangers?
Like Spider-Man
Ben 10 didn't juggle school.
He did a little in UAF but by Omniverse the hero thing was his full on job
I think they said he dropped out
Action cartoons are extremely expensive
Also Miraculous Ladybug exists and is one of the most popular tv shows currently, outside of the US
Miraculous has no consistency in anything, be it characterization, plot, lore, or whatever. It's a very shitty example.
