He was literally corrupted by the dark side after seeing onto the future. So instead of doing something about it in a positive way. He chose violence
Stick to your general, Mousecuck.
He's from a cartoon. It's legitimate /toon/.
He just hated dem clones, that's all.
Imagine Krell putting a Clone's head in his giant mouth, and then biting down, cracking open the Clone's skull.
I wish his betrayal would be a result of him gradually getting more and more hostile and corrupted by war, to the point where he's technically on the Republic's side, but goes full scorched earth on Separatist forces and compromises the Jedi code with "ends justifies the means" rhetoric, thus making him a villain that needs to be put down.
He would be a great example of the Late Republic Jedi's being assholes, which would justify some of the clones turning on the Jedi and would highlight the decline in the Jedi Order's principles as they become more embroiled in fighting for the Republic.
>but goes full scorched earth on Separatist forces and compromises the Jedi code with "ends justifies the means" rhetoric
He already did that.
>thus making him a villain that needs to be put down
But that did not justify putting him down as long as he gained victories for the Republic. The clones decided to put him down only when he pitted them against one another for shits and giggles.
>The clones decided to put him down only when he pitted them against one another for shits and giggles.
He didn't do it because it was funny and he actually told them to.He deliberately misinformed them to have them actually kill each other on knowingly in large numbers and when the clothes found out they realize immediately he committed treason it wasn't about why they were getting killed it was about the fact that he was clearly a traitor.
Everything you just said was Anakin's arc.
Clones aren't going to kill their superior officer just because he's mean to civilians. They might even appreciate him if his more brutal methods mean less Clones die in each battle.
He was right.
I don't like how the idea of a callous Jedi general was abandoned in favor of "oh, he was a traitor the whole time". It was an interesting moral debate that went nowhere.
He became a traitor because he saw the future and he was an ASS. He was a careless Jedi General to begin with when it came to his troopas You don't want to join the sis because you are a nice Jedi to begin with. And he was considered a hero of the war before that despite his casualty record .
The first time I saw this guy in combat, I thought to myself "oh shit, he's a That Guy character." You know, That Guy a group of players has to deal with at an rpg table game.
"I wanna be like General Grievous with extra arms, but his problem was that he didn't have Force powers. Wait! I wanna be that alien race from the diner. He had four arms! I wanna be one of those as a Jedi! And then instead of having a lightsaber, I could have 2 lightsabers... wait! Two of Darth Maul's lightsabers! This will be great!"
Star wars always sucked
