>"you're a bunch of disgusting fricking freaks and the world would be better off if you were dead!" >"hey you're not perfect either" >"wowww, what an immature reaction! how could you be so rude and emotional!?"

Same reason they cast incredibly attractive actors in roles where a person would be a generic 6-7/10 normie.
Americans use media for escapism and love to see themselves in the role of the attractive hero.
Whereas Brits are much more down to Earth and depressive, they prefer to talk about how shit everything is and cringe at people showing positive emotion or over the top success
Is brit TV really that mean spirited? I cant think of anything that would compare to something like family.
The goofy satire of the British doesnt seem mean spirited
You can tell the difference watching both versions of The Office. Michael Scott comes across as a likeable well meaning guy who just makes forgivable mistakes. David Brent by comparison is an obnoxious self centered butthole that most people can barely tolerate. You are clearly meant to root for Michael and against David
US Office spent its entire run changing course to push whatever the fans seemed to like. Michael in the pilot is pretty sleazy and self-obsessed, but audiences latched onto him so they made him nicer. Jim and Pam relationship was supposed to fail in the end but audiences got invested in them so they backpedaled the plots that were supposed to drive them apart.

Michael was like that too initially. They only tried to give him redeeming qualities a few seasons in.
>be america >assfrick the British is the freedom wars of 1776 >assfrick the British in WWI >assfrick the British in WWII
as my president would say >sorry

This
Brits are pompous buttholes whose humor tends to be a bit harsh irl, but their shows are no more mean-spirited than American shows.
It's basically just Ricky Gervais' works that has a sort of malicious hostility behind his humor.

your government puts your people in jail for misgendering trannies
government approved banter?
Wonder what jimmy numale is up to
Will non-Americans ever grow out of the meme-brained newbie phase or is it wojak variants forever? Inseceuros especially, across-the-board newbies.
>Inseceuros
Lol I will be using this frequently
Amerilards can't even handle having 10 grand-grand-granparents instead of 16, like the beautiful and smart English people
2000s British comedies were pretty mean-spirited, but more recent UK comedies are a bit more toothless
Every country thinks every other country's comedy is "mean spirited". Just the way of the world.
>Horrid Henry
Burgers are conceited as frick
UK made 'offensive' communication a crime
its already far worse than US
