The reason Sandpiper was going for a quick settlement was cause they wanted to pay enough pocket change to brush it under the rug. Even the defendants were easily convinced by Howard's speech that the message was more important than the money. Kim's the type of person who when caught, says she didn't do it, and actually believes it.
