I the books he missed it because he was crying so much from his dad’s death. D&D changed it to him missing it because he’s just a dipshit and turned the whole scene into a big joke. Yet more character assassination from those homosexuals.

Robb was shown to be a great tactician and a lousy politician though, he had no military failures with or without the Blackfish just diplomatic and logistical ones.

Robb literally never loses a single battle, Blackfish or no. The only decision you could refer to here is his decision of who to marry, a subject on which the blackfish famously doesn't make good decisions. That's his whole thing.

Robb did a good campaign, his mother was his worst enemy. Nothing but shitty advices. Could have killed Jeyne Westerling (Talysa in the show) and be done with the whole thing, or simply gave her some abortion tea like she did it with her sister, or some money, or just slap some sense on Robb. Nope, went all the way with that bullshit, went into the fricking Red Wedding like a fool, told Robb to left his wolf behind.

Also told Ned to accept Robert's offer, to bring Sansa with him, to trust Littlefinger and so on and on. She never did one right thing in her whole life and now kill innocents in her afterlife. Fricking b***h.

Awful take. Most kids his age would not have the wisdom and patience to listen to and understand their elders. This is exactly why he outmaneuvers Tywin, who expected Robb to act his age. Moreover, he's explicitly skilled enough on the battlefield to inspire legends and instill terror in Lannister forces.

Was he? Edmure does strategically dumb shit, but he does dumb shit out of genuine concern for people and because he is everything everyone else pretends to be. He's fricked during the initial battle because he went out of his way to defend his people, he misses the shot at his dad's funeral because he's too full of grief, he fulfills his duty always and even takes up the duties of others (Brynden failed to uphold his duty to marry, while Edmure takes Robbs duties, and somehow people take away that Brynden is the cool one here), he surrenders not because he is scared for his own life (threats, torture, pain, doesn't move him), but because he wishes to spare others pain.
Edmure is another Ned, except even more so, he's a good soul, an honest man and a shining knight in a setting where that gets you nothing.

          This.

But its easy to sympathize with him because the entire war and its reasons catches him off-guard. And without being a paranoid son of a b***h, he was never going to catch it in time. And he could never have predicted that his sister would do something so incredibly moronic....or that his bannermen would go along with it. Many of which for their own reasons. Watch too many Preston Jacob videos and others to get it, but the gist is, a few shitheaded Riverlanders really wanted to start a war.

The real oddity is why he didn't call his banners the very moment he heard about cat kidnapping Tyrion...unless he never heard about it which seems unlikely.

Everything after that is the consequences of losing the war.

NTA but I think the theory is that in AGoT when some Riverlords come to Ned accusing The Moutain of committing crimes, the crimes were actually logistically inpossible for him to have done. Don't remember the specifics but that's the gist.

                Scratch my comment here

He's talking about the Southron ambitions, which is a theory that Rickard Stark was teaming up with Jon Arryn and Hoster Tully to either declare independence or force political concessions on the Targaryans. There's a bunch of hints that Rickard, Jon and Hoster were planning something.

                then, because that's just bullshit.
Not only are logistical matters not something we should be overly concerned about, remember that GRRM can't do math. Beric was on them and the brotherhood never once hint that any of these crimes were fake or done by other than the mountain, and we get to see the result.

Great actor and he's a total chad in the books. People treat him like a fool but he's far from it, it's just Catelyn and her envy of all her brothers shittalking her family to Robb. In the show D&D made him a real fool, like said he only missed that arrow because he loved his father. Blackfish and Catelyn are two fricking useless bastards.

Also Caty helped frick her sisters' life. She was not always mad, it was the fricking abortion tea, Caty was a fricking evil woman. Never loved Ed, wanted his chad brother's wiener and still treated Snow like shit just because.

You've managed to miss the point in the other direction.
Edmure isn't actually noteworthy for his smarts. It's true that he isn't as stupid as people act like he is. He beat Tywin in battle and gets chastised for it for not being psychic and not being willing to let the smallfolk suffer. But he never actually makes a strategically wise decision.
And if you want to compare Catelyn and Edmure, the thing to note is that Edmure visited Littefingers sick bed, and Catelyn did not.
          > Never loved Ed
Catelyn loved Ned. Ned and Catelyn's relationship is never in doubt. Not once during the entire series does anyone ever doubt that they love one another and we are never given reason to doubt their relationship.
          > and still treated Snow like shit just becaus
Jon Snow is a living "reminder" of Ned's "betrayal" of their marriage vows, and he is a possible rival to her own children for the inheritance. Jon Snow does not deserve to be treated as he is, and it is exceedingly unfair, but it not for no reason.
Catelyn was also not the one who administered moon tea to her sister.

            >Catelyn loved Ned.
To be fair I was talking about the books, so you are right. In the books however she is a bitter c**t. She wanted to marry Ned's brother and was really pissed when he died and she got to be with the scraps. She "learned" to love Ned but it's not like in the shows, it's more "let's make the best of this situation". She hates Snow because she's a c**t.

The moon tea thing is complicated, it's never explicit who did who but Catelyn knew. It's implied her sister was either pregnant from Littlefinger or Ned's brother, but damn I read those books nearly 20 years ago so I may be wrong.

              Anonymous

You just read it that way because prior media has programmed to see her as the archetypal evil stepmother to Jon Snow's archetypal oprhaned protagonist. Try to have a little perspective and Catelyn is quite sympathetic, actually.

              You're remembering the books wrong.
Catelyn loves Ned in the books too. It's true that this love developed, but it is still love, and it is never once in doubt. She hates Snow because of the reasons I stated, not merely because "she's a c**t."
The child is 100% Littlefingers. Lysa didn't care about Brandon, she cared about littlefinger. We're even told when she got pregnant, after Brandon beat up Petyr in the duel, she sleeps with him in his sick bed, and uses the subsequent pregnancy as an argument for her to be allowed to marry Petyr. Hoster Tully instead has her get an abortion. That's why people theorize that the abortion had such a big effect on her, it was her believed love child.
