      >main characters
Does such thing even exist in this series? Everyone is the protagonist depending on the short.

The competition wasn't really earth shattering. Characters like Selvester and Taz are cool but they're not exactly charismatic or dynamic. Porky is probably the next most well rounded character but he's a straight man.

Their only real competition as main characters go for skits is Porky Pig, and he's meant to be the lovable shy normal of the Loony Toons.

Because Chuck Jones and Mel Blanc were gods among mortals, that's why.

Because they smartly retooled Daffy after Bugs started overtaking him in popularity, paired the two together in a series of skits that are still to this day considered among the best that Looney Tunes has ever had, and then split them back off to bounce off their respective supporting casts again. By writing both so they can perfectly bounce off each other without either being a strictly speaking straight man, the two were then able to bounce off everyone else in ways that were equally enjoyable yet distinct.

Because they were based on a better basis. While Sylvester was based on Jack Benny, that's pretty one note. Taz, Sweety, Yosemite Sam, all are pretty one note for the purposes of a very limited 6 minute short. There's not much room for character development.

Bugs and Daffy had better foundations. Bugs was from the MASSIVE work of Groucho Marx as well as the stereotypes of Bronx Irish Catholics, and some other people, like Jimmy Cagney and that guy from Gone with the Wind.

Daffy was even bigger. He was a bundle of every single israeli Borscht belt comedian who ever lived. He's essentially neurotic Mel Brooks in animated form. He couldn't be more Yiddish if he was made of matzo and being beaten with a holy tablet delivered by the IRS.

Can I get a list of the best bugs and daffy cartoons? Both with them together and separate. Love Looney Tunes but it's hard finding the classics online

Also what's the best service for the older shorts? HBO or boomerang?
