For some reason the animation industry decided that kids only want to play with their i pads. Which ironically enough the video game industry has being filling since any time you walk into the toy section of a story it's either legos or game merch.
The problem is that the base model is one of the ugliest things ever but is very easy to mass-produce. Pops can be decent if they decided to replace their awful base. Meanwhile nenderoids are much better products and I feel they could even just replace pops if they cut costs and features.
It all boils down to the eyes. Hello Kitty already has a design that should translate perfectly to a Pop figure but all of her figures still look OFF for some reason and it’s because Kitty actually has smaller oval eyes. If they weren’t so dead set on the eye shape and size, it wouldn’t be so bad. That said, sometimes it does work like on that Godzilla one you posted. Soulless dead eyes really works on giant lizard monsters.
Most Disney shows nowadays are aimed at girls and the prevailing thought of most suits, even in a post-horseshow world, is still >Girls don’t buy toys
so as far as they're concerned, there’s no reason to make any.
>>What are Disney Adults
Those that spend way too much time at Walt Disney World reliving their childhood memories of watching Disney movies before Disney had a channel?
Last show they tried a bigger line was Ducktales and because that show was aiming for the online nostalgia audience more then an actual kid audience it didn't sell well.
Frog and Owl show would not sell well either since actual kids aren't into those two
Name me a single modern cartoon kids watch with recognizable and cool designs a kid would want to buy. Then answer if any kid would prefer this over videogame merch or superheros.

It holds up well, Kids like it for the music, Adults like it for the jokes. It's perfect
Reminder that these charts are made by looking at the trending tab of Disney plus. They are not based on any real data
>outdated chart
They probably don't want to take bets and stick with the safer gaeunteed to sell star wars and marvel merch.
