It was pretty good. It does a good job of showing how convoluted and personal Medieval politics can get, and also has multiple well choreographed fight scenes in varied locations. It's gotambushes, tunnel fighting, underwater fighting, field combat, and a siege.

        [...]
It has acceptable action, but after a while I got the impression that I was watching some kind of anti Hungarian propaganda. The story itself was really relatively simple but became kind of convoluted.

IMO It was worth a watch because it isn't capeshit or a sequel.

        Alright, I'm convinced. Hope it's not anti-Catholic.

tl;dw the basic story is pretty weak and the movie felt a little short for the character development. HOWEVER the action and sets were pretty cool but everything else made it drop off. makes good history kino tho

          Alright, I'm convinced. Hope it's not anti-Catholic.

Not that I could tell, a Papal Schism was the big issue, though.

I did not watch it, but current crop of European cinema - when oriented towards national kino - is painfully jingoistic due to utter lack of autors with something to say. This is particularly evident in Russian cinema, where every Red Army soldier is both a good patriot, Russian, just a good lifeless pointless overall mensch while Germans come straight out of CoD stereotypes. This basically goes for every single nu-kino I had the misfortune to watch, and the CGI is everywhere, composite, green screen, you name it. Like, Eisenstein made a movie where Jesuits are basically Nazis but it's so well shot, so visionary, so moving that it's on par with any modern blockbuster (well, there are no good modern blockbusters but you catch my drift). It's like every historical modern kino nowadays is made for morons who listen to Sabaton.

I think governments are investing in film propaganda again. I can't really comment on accuracy because I don't know shit about that period.

          >People are fed up of whites.

Literally the only two nonwhites I saw. I checked the cast list and aside from the big names, the rest had salvic sounding names. I've also stopped looking for any reason to not consume media, and reasons to do so. I chose to watch this because its not capeshit or a 30 year old sequel.

But I guess penniless NEETs just want to drag everyone down to their level.

It's not great and Northman is much better. You'll walk into this either expecting Czech Braveheart or seeing some radical war-wagon battles (if you know the slightest trivia about the main character).
The movie is just a mediocre middle-ages outlaw story. Lots of guys with lots of thick accents you can barely understand. Michael Caine desperate for a paycheck. No war-wagons except in one shot of the epilogue.

Let me be clear about why this is a flop in NO uncertain terms. The age when israelites (under the banner of christgays) took over Europe and then the Earth has been the darkest, most demonic, filthiest, most degenerate age in all of human history. The only morons who glorify it are germanics and slavs, because both are and have always been filthy barbaric savages. The DAY christgays took over Europe people literally forget how to even draw human figures.

The soviets pulling a coup d'etat was the last straw in Soviet US relations breaking down. Stalin promised free elections for the countries they seized from Germany, when the polling looked like the Czechs weren't full commie they decided to roll in tanks instead.

The only reason I knew this was coming out was because they sponsored an ad on one of the history documentary youtube channels I watch. I wouldn't have even known this existed.

Generic title. It’s like naming a cowboy movie “Wild West”, or a caveman movie “Prehistoric”

This is where I even heard about it existing. I'm sure the movie was generic garbage though, but his story is interesting.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_(film)

“The plot of the film starts sometime in the 14th century, when Wenceslaus IV is the king of Bohemia and Roman emperor at the same time. Wenceslas has received the throne after his father Charles IV, but his reign is not as successful and the kingdom seems to fall apart under his weak rule. The most powerful nobleman in the country, Henry III of Rosenberg, keeps seizing properties of lower nobility one after another, until one of them starts resisting. The brave hero is young Jan Žižka, a knight and mercenary, future leader of the Hussite army. Rosenberg had almost all his family killed and Žižka wants revenge. Rosenberg's fiancée Katherine falls in love with the warrior and hands him the text between Rosenberg and the League of Lords planning to dethrone the king. Although the plot is revealed, the League succeeds in kidnapping the king. The king's troops manage to make Wenceslas free, but he has to accept a humiliating peace. Thus Žižka has to choose between two alternatives: give up the fight for justice and receive a higher rank at the royal court, or keep fighting, though alone and abandoned.[16]”

      >Wenceslaus IV is the king of Bohemia
I recognize that name. Never heard of the movie but just seems like a fine enough medieval action movie.

I've never heard of it. Do people in Europe know that films have to be marketed to an audience that might wish to see it?
