        No.
The pictures on the right are "hosts," from a Japanese host club. Clients of Japanese host clubs are 99.9% middle-aged women and hostesses from standard Japanese bars/clubs.

It's because the modern world is boring and soulless so there's nothing worth making movies about. The two major Japanese film movements - the Golden Age and New Wave, occurred during times of great social upheaval and modernization in Japan. The present just doesn't compare

No, they just like the soft type of beauty and men that are more sensitive.

Every person on Cinemaphile in the nutshell. No wonder why this board is such a shithole that no one cares about when most people here just come to post one thing and then either ignore all the replies or just leave the website and not even care if someone responds to them in the first place. Most people who use this board really are just people who started using the internet for the first time in their lives like a week ago and really seem to not get that website like this exists for making discussions about something instead of posting one-sided statement and leaving the thread immediately after and ignoring the points of all the other people. Just a bunch of mentally moronic boomers or normies who keep ignoring each other like morons instead of actually talking about a subject matter. Even Cinemaphile doesn't have this problem.

(You) know what? I change my mind. Even neo Cinemaphile filled with obnoxious zoomers is a WAY better place for actual discussions with substance then this garbage hole.

        >wet earwax
how did they find this out and why is it an important distinction?

          Anonymous

Japanese traditionally use a small wooden spoon to clean earwax. Works a lot better with dry wax than wet. I also had a Japanese gf who said she wouldn't let someone with wet earwax use her earbuds. I dunno, you share a country with people for 2000+ years you'll probably learn how some of the population is different.

It's important because, aside from the Japanese, Asians have dry ear wax. The Ainu/Jomon represent an archaic population before the Caucazoid-Mongoloid divide and passed dry ear wax to some of the modern Japanese population.

ha, it's funny because every time there is a thread about koreans, the weebs claim that they've all had jaw surgery to get the oval face but here you are claiming that koreans naturally have the oval face and that in fact sets them apart from 'true japanese'

Films were part of Japan's discussion on what the future of their nation would be and how their culture would and should change.
Now it has been all but confirmed that there will be no future, so there is nothing to discuss.

it's more that the consensus answer to the question "how should our culture change" turned out to be "as little as possible whether that's a good idea or not, thanks".

Kurosawa is still a massive liberal hippy compared to the Japanese political center.

The basic reason for why Japan is in such decline, summed up in a single sentence. Good job.

To awnser your question though, early cinema was art, current cinema is a product. Made to appeal to the dumbest person and promote, in a Japan the latest idol so you buy their merchandise, and in the US whatever gay ass israeli propaganda but also merchandise you manchild.

Japan tries a lot less than America does because they aren't exporting their live action media, no one knows or cares about Japanese idols, and the industry is run by like 2 or 3 talent agencies who decide who gets to be an actor. They also don't have the budget.

I don't know what the US's excuse is other than israeli nepotism and israeli need to destroy civilization.
