I really don't see how they're going to do chopper, brooke and franky in a good way that doesn't feel uncanny valley or uninspired. I feel like the show works for the opening east blue arc, but I don't know how they're going to do all the increasingly wackier / crazy shit that gets added in as the story progresses. I already felt like they were pushing it a bit with Luffy's CGI. They did Buggy pretty well though. Fishman were kinda eh too. I feel like they're at risk of falling off hard if they do more seasons and I don't see how they'd have the budget to deliver on a lot of things.

Naruto probably cannot hold on a live action format, as it is too dependant on it's main character and antagonist, leaving it's supporting cast behind for what would be equivalent of entire seasons. As bad as the Strawhats are treated on the New World, they at least are on the same boat as Luffy for the majority of the story.
Naruto also has a more loose arc structure that would be more hard to divide into the seasonal format, specially from shippuden onward.
Ithat being said, they will probably try it at some point.

I'm watching Ep 1 and its been okay so far and I honestly thought this was going to be awful. I think Luffy's actor does a really good job at portraying how I'd think he'd ask if he was "real". Also pretty nice that they actually show Zoro literally cutting people in half and shit instead of nobody dying in the manga / anime outside of major plot points. That being said nothing else really stands out besides the set pieces being pretty nice.

I want to remind op fans that the live action isn’t “Oda certified”, it’s a hasty compromise between Oda and Netflix producers. At best he thinks it’s okay, and it certainly isn’t surprising that fans are eating up obvious slop. The low production quality (narratively and visually) isn’t reeling in normies which was Oda’s goal for the whole thing. Netflix is caught in a bad position because they want to cancel it but know if they do they won’t get another anime live action deal again. Oda is likely split in half. He doesn’t want to go through that excruciating process again and see his work get dragged through the mud but he also doesn’t want to fuck over the actors. And cancellation would look bad and be admitting it’s a failure. In his mind this was supposed to be a guaranteed big success that would finally catch the worldwide audience, who knows what he’s feeling now. The fact it wasn’t renewed yet is already a big red flag.

I really thought this was going to be extremely shitty, but I actually had a pretty fun time with it, although I did fast forward through a few mins here and there during some of the slower parts that were generally 1:1 to with source material. I'd say it was a 7/10 for me, and I could see myself liking it slightly more if it was my first exposure to the setting. I just wish they didn't exclude Hachi and Momoo (probably due to budget) and the two swordsmen who suck up to Zoro.That being said, I don't think further seasons would be good. Outside of the Fishmen and Luffy / Buggy's powers, the East Blue arc is very grounded compared to what comes next, and things only get more ridiculous.
I don't see how they'll do justice to things like Skytopeia or Thriller Bark as well as a lot of the characters that will be introduced, and I also doubt they have any intention to go any further than right before the timeskip, if they're going to follow the 1 Arc = 1 Season template they established. Also, while Luffy's actor plays him exactly like the aloof hue monkey I pictured him as, him and the rest of the crew are not really great actors, while I enjoyed some of the quipping / bants, a lot of the more serious scenes were delivered cringey as hell.
