Should I read the story after the TV show ends or The Maxx vs Batman? I don't know anything about it

the tv show covers barely 25% of the comic, sadly.

The comic isn’t actually as good as the cartoon. I mean beat for beat they’re spot on with each other up until the series ended save for some cameos. Then the comic starts to unravel and the author losses interest going off on these weird unrelated tangents. Ending’s a real mess.

The Maxx was good when it was written by Bill Loebs. Then Sam Kieth decided the he didn't actually need a real writer and that's when the series went off the rails.

Because it's not. It's shit. The creator all but vanished after this. They say he was taken out into the desert and staked to a fire ant colony with honey in his ears, eyes, and anus, but I hope not. That would be too good for him.

I must have really missed the maxx thread because I don't hear anyone say anything about this. I always thought it was obscure or didn't have enough of a pull for new comers to talk about it. I found it through sheer chance and thought it looked cool.

Some media properties or so good, or so bad, that they almost never come up because everyone reached the same conclusion and there's nothing to really talk about. When's the last time you've seen a Dave the Barbarian thread or a EEnE thread?

David Feiss, the creator of Cow and Chicken, is Sam Keith's cousin. He contributed the parts with The Crappon to The Maxx, and Sam contributed to Cow and Chicken pilot apparently. They also worked on a one-shot Punisher parody together.
