Deep down inside Seth just wants to say what he wants and israeli Hollywood won’t let him. This is a conversation between him and Hollywood.

Bullshit, Seth is somehow more insufferable than your average Hollywood leftist homosexual. Also he didn't even write this scene, also he's a homosexual.

Brian is a self insert. this theory doesn't make any sense. He is having a meta moment and shitting on himself and his own pseudo intellectualism. just some self deprecation for comedy, Brian is a full of shit character so it's funny to see Quagmire of all people hold him accountable and talk shit to him

  3. 2 years ago

He's is obviously a deeply insecure person. Both characters are sides of his own psyche.

At least he hasn’t directed any films since “A Million Ways to die in the West” and “Ted 2”.
Really sucks what David Guillod and Harvey Weinstein did to Jessica Barth.

was seth a theater kid in school? he reminds me of this theater kid i used to beat up. i only beat him up because he was a weak little b***h who annoyed the frick out of me and my older brother molested me at home. i hate seth.

I never cared about any of family guys, or any seth macfarlane shows characters or plots. They are just huge pile of crap, and only cheap vessels for bringing you pile of different jokes and skits. Shittiest episodes are those that try to make you care about characters journey

Word, Family Guy was never good and people who think it was good must have a small catalogue of cartoons

      Still better than South Park.

At least Family Guy is self-aware.

      >Shittiest episodes are those that try to make you care about characters journey

Which confuses me because Family Guy is always so insincere, ironic and sarcastic. All of these block investment into characters, yet they expect audiences to be sad when Brian dies (even though he was obviously going to be resurrected). Rick and Morty suffers from this too due to the nihilism themes, especially when they both killed their other universe version of themselves. I'm not saying this type of humour is bad, but it is bad when we are then suddenly asked to care about what's happening.

Brian existed to be unlikable but fans kept liking him so Seth needed a mouthpiece

Similarly killing Brian off and then having to bring him back
Seth has been sick of the character for a long time

      Who fricking liked him?

Actually it seemed more like Brian at the beginning was the straight man of the show (the joke being the dog is more mature than Peter). But yeah, then Seth made him to be the self aware insufferable liberal mouthpiece.

Seth only ever wrote a handful of older episodes. This was already at the point where he collects his producer checks and just says whatever is in the script.

It's an interesting dynamic for 2 characters that otherwise rarely have anything to do with each other.

  18. 2 years ago

Because Brian had been getting more and more shit for being a (intended) morally perfect liberal mouthpiece, and he wanted to take him down a peg so that his soapboxing didn’t get instantly discarded as author tract

  19. 2 years ago

Seth identifies as Brian (impotent pseud) but wishes he was a Quagmire (well-off slayer). It's just his ego lashing out at himself.

  20. 2 years ago

Because quagmire was the one character he had any control over, and ~~*they*~~ turned Brian into a total douchbag with no other redeeming qualities.

During the Bush era seasons the show started to get very preachy with Brian being the mouthpiece against conservatives and religion.
I presume they realized how silly everything was and just make fun on almost everybody

  23. 2 years ago

Because Brian is a phony, quagmire might be a degenerate piece of shit but he doesn't pretend he's better than everyone else around him like Brian does

Was curious to see how true this was
      >Constantly hit on your best friend's wife
      Focus of several episodes
      >Defecate all over his yard
Probably shown. Can't remember. Definitely can be inferred from his being a dog
      >You're such a sponge, you pay for nothing
Never outright shown but probably true since he's unemployed and a failed author.
      >Pretend you're this deep guy
      Focus of several episodes
      >All you do is date bimbos
Not really true. The one time he actually did he was very insecure about it.
      >Holden Caulfield
      Never shown
      >Delude yourself into thinking you're a great writer even though you're terrible
Focus of several episodes and a constant running gag.
      >Textbook liberal agenda
Absolutely true and part of the reason why this episode was probably written in the first place. The soup kitchen stuff has no basis in the series though
      >Prius
I don't recall him being too obnoxious about his Prius
      >Religion is for idiots
Brian is a very vocal atheist and constantly badmouths religion so this checks out.
      >You failed college twice
      Focus of an episode
      >Failure as a father
Poking fun at the fact that Dylan never showed back up. But it can be said to be true given what we've seen.

So for the most part, a pretty accurate rant given what we've seen.
