    >If spoof movies were still being made, there would be an A24 with a scene parodying Hereditary where the girl hits multiple posts and the brother doesn't cares, and then there is a scene parodying The Lighthouse where a Dafoe "lookalike" says "why did you spill your beans" and then the protagonist says "what" and then he throws a bunch of beans and farts.

there are plenty. the trick is to utilize a few, and not smear shit across the walls by referencing every single one that was released in a certain period

Nah we're long overdue for a parody of modern capeshit that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Man, you're an idiot. Parody movies were usually good because they didn't have too many pop culture elements and had physical gags that were timeless. Airplane 1 has those religious fricks in the airport, the little girl saying she only takes black men, and possibly the line of people slapping the shit out of the woman as things that don't really hold up to modern sensitivity/relevance, and to most people it's still funny.

Now, I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed InAPPropriate Comedy and Movie 43, so I'm not stranger to shitty comedies, and even I know those are low-level, bottom-feeder crass movies. But we're on Cinemaphile so what I find humorous is already skewed. That's where parodies left off at. Walk Hard is possibly the last actual good parody that was thoughtful and flows well as a movie. Scratch that, Tucker and Dale VS Evil is also good.

I think one of them bombed big time. Was it Epic Movie? It came after most of the scary movies. I think it came out the same time as 4 or after, and it get very, very bad reviews and I think it stopped that genre of parody. But there were heaps of other ones outside of that franchise so I'm unsure. I enjoyed them.

A good one would be zoomers, internet culture, and cancel culture. It's very ripe for one.

there was a few stinkers in a row and people realized that the trope and method of humor was getting really tired, no fresh ideas, and people were starting to get really fricking sick of those movies.

The Starving Games was also really bad, but Epic Movie might've been the nail in the coffin yeah.

    OK, I got one.

    >Zoomer MC (full zoomer haircut, full drip, yeezys, supreme, weird face tatts) wants to 'make it' as an esports athlete
    >Best friend wants to be a social media superstar. Always trying to go viral with reviews and reactions to everything that happens that is shit
    >Sister is a background character trying to compete with her brother. She is an eggball player who starts out as a college athlete and is awful, but because she's a woman she constantly gets elevated throughout the movie. We see her botch everything she does, yet next time we see her she's in the rose bowl, then the NFL, etc., and is constantly rubbing it in her brother's face because he's never gonna be as successful as her

MC is bullied at school by 'alpha trans 'woman' who and 'cool group'. Transwoman constantly having to take breaks between bullying and beatings to take estrogen and dilate vegana. Cool group also includes obese black model and kid in a wheelchair, but they drive sick muscle cars and have letter jackets for GLEE or some shit

Weird modern teachers who are pushing woke agenda, but are clearly just pedophiles
    >It's normal to get naked and feel your bodies guys. Let's be body positive... I'm getting pretty positive right now
Principal is clearly a communist who has like busts of che guevara and communista flags and so on

Plot is basically like a 'rocky' NGE type thing where MC has to overcome his own failure to become the greatest esports athlete of all time with help from friend, and overcoming his detractors at school.

Just pasically a parody of woke culture.

The problem is modern culture is so fractured and diluted that it's hard to find really 'well known' tropes, events, and culture that is easily identifiable, relatable to most viewers, and therefore easy for the jokes to resonate. So I just think making a parody of modern woke culture would work, though it wouldn't go down with some audiences but honestly those audiences wouldn't enjoy many parodies anyway. Needs a more defined relatable movie plot though. I guess Rocky works, unsure what's a modern popular story that it can be worked around.

Oh yeah because right wingers are well known for responding positively to mockery of conservatives

          Anonymous

No, but this isn't entirely a parody of liberals. It's mainly a parody of zoomer culture. It just has its secondary characters around woke culture rather than conservative because its probably more pervasive in a school setting. I can be more inclusive to you and include a 'school shooter' incel 'nazi' background character if you feel this gives you better representation.

Also there are plenty of movies mocking conservatives now. They've done several that are just libshit fantasy about 'evil conservatives' and so on. I'm just trying to keep it fresh. I don't want to make a movie that panders to an already overserved demographic, I'd just be hampering it before it hits the box office bud.

    Because:
    >irony in movies became the norm
    >there are no real "culturally iconic" and popular blockbusters anymore, except capeshit, but capeshit already makes fun of itself (e.g. Deadpool)
    >movies in general aren't that culturally relevant anymore; people wouldn't care to go and see parodies of them
    >people got tired of parody films after the Seltzer/Friedberg turds got worse and worse and started flopping at the box office
    >comedy in general is tough to manage nowadays because you either become an unfunny regime-approved comedian like John Oliver or you decide to cross the line like Chappelle and thus let your controversial politics define you; humor for the sake of humor is dead now in the highly politicized woke landscape
