Yeah. It's obviously a dream/nightmare sequence, but you see a man who has been in a car crash climb out of his car. His abdomen starts to swell up, and a vegana forms underneath his balls where he "gives birth" to another fully grown man, who repeats the process, who repeats the process but has the vegana form on his back, who then repeats the process but out of his mouth. The end.I actually thought it was a really good movie. It at least left me thinking about it for the next few days unlike Top Gun.
I enjoyed it enough, even though it's significantly more flawed than Garland's last two films
I don't know what the frick he was thinking in a broad sense though because I dunno who's gonna give him the money to direct something else after this
There's no clear premise or idea being explored, as far as I can tell. Which is a shame because his previous films, and especially his show Devs, really explored some intelligent topics. This just feels like "I'm making an art". There were some beautiful shots and tense moments but it didn't add up to anything
I wish I could be as generous but I can't. Why have all the male characters be played by the same actor? I wish there was a deeper meaning to that but honestly it just feels like it was nothing more than a surface level gimmick to show off their make up skills
I took it as her seeing all men as the same because of her trauma not because the director was trying to say that all men are the same. The whole film is about a woman learning to overcome her issues brought about from trauma so I've got to agree with that anon cause I find it hard to believe that was what he was going for.
I don't take shit like this seriously. Women don't commit less violent crimes because of some inner virtuousness, they commit less crime because they're physically intimidated into inaction. If women had the same same physical strength as men they'd make up at least 50% of all violent crime.
Always a bad sign. Single women are toxic and too crazy to maintain relationships. They pass on their toxic ideologies and mental illness to their children.
i worked with a very nice felon, dumb as a rock but charismatic and can talk the ear off anyone
he was the son of a prostitute, was raised in his car for six years, then sped through grade school into high school where he dropped out
he never met his father until he was about 22
then he robbed the man and spent time in the pen for it, got out for a couple years, and has committed another violent crime or two hes going back in for soon
many such cases
>rape
women can't rape. >sex offences
female sex offences aren't taken seriously. >murders
women get abortions, men don't. >robberies

fire is a man's work.
Basically a white woman gets blacked and the black husband kills himself when he discovers he's a troony. Then scary spooky white people imagery taken from Christianity and paganism happens for 90 minutes because white people are so scary and black people are so good. The end. Basically every modern horror movie.
Would have been a fine movie if she was actually being chased by someone the whole movie. She's literally just thrashing around an Airbnb while hallucinating.
Watching even the exact people who this is meant to pander to shit on this is hilarious. One of the rare instances of letterboxd review for a movie being as in large based.
>Why did to bomb so badly?
Her black boyfriend is aggressive and ends up beating her, when she wants to leave him, he kills himself.
She rents a house, starts to see many forms of the same white man trying to attack her.
Around here I just fell asleep and haven't had any interest in seeing more. What I saw of it was actually worse than Annihilation, Garland should just quit at this point.
Honestly way better than I expected it to be. Honestly some of the best atmosphere I've seen in a horror film in decades. The first 2 thirds of this movie are amazing. It does kind of drop the ball a bit towards the end but I think it still maanges to stick the landing at least. Surprisingly not as preachy as I was expecting for a film called "Men" with themes about misogyny and domestic abuse. I'll admit I went in expecting the message to be "men bad" but there's absolutely none of that in the film.
any good webms??
NO
There's a birth giving futa scene
No-one wanted to go to the cinemas to watch it. Is it true the ending is fricked up?
Yeah.

cause it's shit and moronic
male audience don't care to see a movie depicting to women's anxious feelings toward men.
from the trailer it feels like Mother! but good.
I enjoyed it enough, even though it's significantly more flawed than Garland's last two films

They had a cool premise with having the 1 actor play all the men in the village but they literally don't do anything with it. What a waste
does she get naked? if not I dont care
you see her nipples

Clearly the message is that all men are a hivemind of gaslighting rapists
not wrong tbh
I want to give the movie more credit than that. It doesn't make it easy to interpret it that way. Seems more about this one ladies trauma

>makes up violent psychopath headcanon to excuse his gender of being gigaBlack folk
now make this for emotional abuse from women towards men and look at every metric be 100000/100000 men have experienced..

The hole who made this would bend over backwards to defend violent rapists if she was informed he was a Black person. Every time with no exceptions.
see
it's a different flavor of violent psychopath headcanon, but still falls into that realm
What kind of response is I don't know, especially from a woman?
The vast majority of those men were raised by women.
Always a bad sign. Single women are toxic and too crazy to maintain relationships. They pass on their toxic ideologies and mental illness to their children.

There's not a soijak with a big enough mouth to convey an adequate reaction.
too many chudcels out there got mad at the title
Jessie is my waifu
The woke don't understand that no one is going to pay money to listen to an arrogant ignorant lecture about how horrible they are.
So what exactly is this about? You don't get much from the title or poster.

I really liked both Ex Machina and Annihilation, surely this can't be all bad

Because it's fricking weird and the ending sequence pisses off your average audience.
