Do people generally not like the ending? That's news to me. I thought it was the best part.

I hate Garland with a passion beyond belief. I sincerely want him to be killed.

This movie was never smart, but it's entertaining and the topic is interesting. Also the dance scene is fricking lit

It's just saying both attitudes ultimately stem from the same underlying view of women and that the difference in behavior is just driven by whether you're type A or type B.

Never watched it, never will. Robots are not people and I am sick of media trying to make me empathize with toasters.

      >t*aster
      That's a racial slur.

only people I've met that hated this movie
    >roastie mom of one who divorced her previous husband when she found someone who made more money
    >guy who made more money and married the roastie mom
they were friends of friends of friends, only ever met them once at a dinner party but everyone else hadn't seen it or liked it
    it makes sense now

      Literally me.
Every time I feel something for robots, I remember that some dev modeled the behavior I'm seeing now to mimic humans and make me feel that, killing my empathy immediately.
I have the same autism with ads, as soon as it makes me feel something, I remember why and I suddenly hate it.

Reminder that if you just switch the robot body in ExMachina for male version, absolutely no one would empathise with it.
Unfortunately for us, as long as robots will look similar to people, majority of population will project their own humanity on them.

    >Turing Test was applied only to one specifically chosen subject, and the A.I. was too stupid to realize it will be caught immediately within a large population
    >Helicopter pilot somehow didn't recognize that it wasn't Caleb or even just a male with orange hair in his late 20s
    >Somehow, Oscar Isaac's death was not reported and an investigation followed by a search never took place
It was too long for how little it had to offer. Should have been 60 minutes, max.

I mean, that stuff could have happened for all we know. As for the helicopter pilot, I think he probably thought she was just some prostitute that Oscar Isaac invited over.

Is it even possible to have sf movies that force me to learn shit and adapt, instead of picrelling the audience with a few meme words everyone knows like turing test?
Am I asking for too much?
There's a lot of this shit in netflix 3-body-problem too.
Does sci-fi have to be for morons now? At least star trek used to make me think.

I dunno, I think her complete disinterest in the guy at the end, viewing him as non-existent/an inanimate object of sorts, didn't work that well with her passion about appearing human at the end - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w7nNC_twUM
Because it is passion, if wearing the white dress was just a tool for her to use against humans she was entirely indifferent about, then she would likely be indifferent toward the tools. It seem mutual exclusive, caring about humans directly or indirectly and simultaneously not care at all (obviously her apathy could be directed toward him exclusively and not humans altogether).

Which is exactly what Nathan explicitly stated to Caleb, just straight up said that is what will happen.
And as for her interest, she was constantly on camera and knew it.

"Hate" is a strong word, but I had some questions, chiefly: wouldn't her batteries run out on the helicopter ride back to civilization?

Yes. Unfortunately for the movie it is directly shown that they recharge every day in their docking stations, they don't have any Fallout nuclear batteries.

The biggest mistake in this movie was the
    Domnhall Gleeson character.
His character should have been Oscar Isaac's
tutor at university. Preferably, someone who had
recently lost their wife but who had enough smarts to know how conniving women can
    be.

    >Why did you hate the ending?
I found the ending fine, a rogue agi let loose into the world. Just imagine her systematic raise to world domination. It's fun to think about.

About the moron that got locked in, all he needed to do was to somehow communicate that he didn't want to be locked inside and she would have let him out.
