This movie is major kino.
Early Spike Lee was really talented, but he fell off HARD. The whole middle career with a bunch of Kickstarter funded trash, the Oldboy remake, that shitty WWII movie. The lows were Mariana Trench deep.
BlacKKKlansman was passable but that ending montage is mighty cringe. Heard the Vietnam War film was shit. It's sad.

I was in elementary school at the time but I still remember Malcolm X gear being huge at the time. His autobiography by Alex Haley is one of my favorite nonfiction books; he was kind of based.

I used to install security systems in people's homes in the South.
I saw Malcom X photos in lots of Black person homes. I always used to tell them "Oh man, I LOVE Malcom X! Him and Rockwell were friends! They both wished that blacks would go back to Africa, I'm glad to see your respect him too, what a great dream he had!" then I;d just go back to my work.
I think they were too confused to report me to the company. This was also 2010's.
