Because it was cool, until eventually get captured by "them". If you're on Cinemaphile, and not old enough to actually post here, there's a 99% chance you liked it too, but because of the MCU you now feel schizo compulsion to deny it.

I liked the iron man movie where he built the suit in Iraq or wherever. That and the first Tobey spiderman is all I've ever seen

The only capekino ever made was the original Superman, Tim Burton's Batman and Sam Raimi's Spiderman, the Norton Hulk and like the first one or two X-men movies.
Anyone who likes anything beyond that is mentally ill. Capekino turned into capeshit somewhere around the time of Kickass. That's around the time it went from being cool and interesting to being about Joss Whedon quips and being ironic and ''deconstructing'' supeheroes

Ang Lee Hulk is superior. Easy contender for one of the best cape shits ever shat out, but audiences and critics couldn't see it at the time. There's a reason this homie accumulated several Oscars over the years.

Your opinion is invalid. Nolan Batman movies were unquestionably the best superhero movies of all time. Man of Steel was good too. Early Marvel was of varying quality, but Guardians was great. Endgame was entertaining. Deadpool is pretty dumb fun.
Pretending like everything is bad except your obviously bad choices doesn't actually give you the internet cool guy points you are expecting

          >Man of Steel was good too... Guardians was great. Endgame was entertaining. Deadpool is pretty dumb fun.

that's ultimately the problem with millennials (& zoomers by proxy but don't worry, i don't assign all the blame to you guys unlike most)
they suck all the seriousness out of a world and expect it to still have depth, be "pretty dumb fun", AND be mediocre enough to strike their personal niche all at the same time. It's like ripping out all oxygen on the planet and expecting Humans to survive off helium.
the white pill is that eventually the reddit quips and poppy/restricted character development will die a horrible death and 2010s/2020s movies will be trapped in this age forever.

            You can have both things.
Nolan Batman was entirely serious and not mediocre.
Deadpool was never serious and was fun.
Not everything has to fit in the same box. That's what psueds fail to get. They seem to think everything needs to be some french art film to be good, when in reality there are good romcoms too.
Marvel quips work in movies like deadpool and guardians because they aren't supposed to be serious. They don't work in the rest of capeshit because Thor isn't supposed to be a comedian.

Are capeshit enjoyers really that based?
I enjoy some older superhero movies like Raimi's Spider-Man, Superman: The Movie from the 70s, and the hilarious Adam West Batman film. Haven't watched any of those MCU or DCU movies though, sometimes I consider it but the newer ones seem so shitty that it turns me off.

        it's all just storytelling man
my main issue with capes is that they've led to Hollywood being less creative and the movies themselves have become too conveyor belt-y

I read superhero comics for my entire childhood and a little bit into my adulthood until I no longer had the patience to keep up with their endless output of massive crossover events. Being an old fan makes me interested when they're making movies but it doesn't mean I'll necessarily like them, if anything it makes me more judgmental about what constitutes a good adaptation.
I felt that the DCEU was basically entirely a failure, the approach to pretty much every character was wrong. While the MCU was mostly good, with some duds, up until Endgame, after which point everything goes to shit with the exception of Guardians 3, which was decent, and Endgame, which was good for scratching that nostalgia itch and a great Dafoe performance carrying it.

Anythign made by DC has been bad after Nolan, and anything made by Marvel was bad since Dysney (aka only phase 1 was watchable)

Maybe I am ironically too dumb for capeshit but what makes the movies so unenjoyable to me is that I have no idea of the power levels of the characters so I feel no excitement in the fights as I have no idea when the hero is in danger or not.

In a normal action movie if the hero is surrounded by several guys with guns I can understand he is in trouble and will need something special to get him out of it.

But if Iron Man, Hulk, Thor whatever is facing some alien monster I have no clue what I am supposed to feel because I have no idea how strong that monster is and how many hits from it the heroes can take.

I do think his Justice League was the weakest of the three, mostly due to studio interference. And there is quite a bit of filler because Snyder wanted to give the fans as much as possible in return for their support. They originally planned to release it in parts because of the length. I think it would have been significantly better if it were released theatrically with a tighter runtime.

Beta male power fantasy. Superheroes rarely if ever actually earn their powers, they just get them handed to them and are immediately beloved by society for beating up people that do wrong think and commit acts the government has labelled as illegal without having to answer for their actions or think problems through. Just oop there's a bank robber I'm gonna fly in punch them without worry because I'm a demigod and instead of using my powers for a higher purpose I'm just gonna be a good boy storm trooper for the government beating up anyone I disagree with.

Autistics need simplified social dynamics. Realistic drama is too complicated for their brains.
