Why do people constantly make fun of this scene? Is self-sacrifice for the freedom of your people supposed to be funny or something?
Why do people constantly make fun of this scene? Is self-sacrifice for the freedom of your people supposed to be funny or something?
People never make fun of it
And what planet do you come from?
Show me one scene that's "making fun" of it and not just directly referencing or parodying it.
It's an iconic scene in an iconic movie and made a cultural impact.
Are people making fun of the godfather when they use the famous quote from the first act? Are people making fun of Rocky when they say "Yo Adrian" or punch meat?
I think you're just misunderstood.
It's imitated a lot, not really mocked though. Scots seem to like the sentiment even if it's a bit daft in the context of recent Scottish history
The idea of Europeans having freedom is inherently comical.
There's a thing called human life.
When you exist, you feel things, and enjoy being free. This scene and quote specifically speaks to people who are alive and are human.
Basically the idea, dumbed down, is that when brutal assholes try to fuck up your life, there's a great sense of human drive within that wants to tell those people to fuck themeslves, even if it means they kill you.
Someday when you experience feelings or life in any way, you will probably start to understand things like this. For now just try to relax and maybe read something or talk to someone for the first time ever.
tl;dr you must be either a true moron or a troll, either way thank you for amuzing me bitch i love you just kidding omg i'm gonna die
yo wtf how'd you get a picture of my brain???
I took a scan
lolol that was an asshole response but not a schizo one...
i have the same shitty habit when people ask me idiotic questions, i get cunty
Because they are wearing clothes from 400 years later
I've never seen anyone make fun of these. At least not with negative intent, they just make jokes at FREEDOM but it's never hateful.
I couldn't make it through 40 minutes of this movie. Which was surprising since I quite liked The Patriot and thought this would be essentially the same movie in a different setting. But the dialogue was written for 10 year olds and there were no particularly redeeming qualities.
I mean clearly their sacrifice was pointless as they never got their freedom. Their descendents even willingly voted against it.
When someone kills you, they take your freedom. That's what they're killing you for.
>if my enemies kill me, I win
It's funny considering how the Scots hate freedom today.
>be Scotland
>want referendum to leave UK
>remain wins
>be UK
>wants referendum to leave EU
>leave wins
>Scotland seethes and wants to go back to EU and have another referendum to leave the UK again
Is it just a politician thing? I can't imagine normal people of Scotland being this pissy.
I met a Scottish guy in a bar not long after the brexit vote who immediately starting bitching about it and when I told him I'd voted Brexit he genuinely got angry at me about it. So yeah I'm sure there are plenty of pissy haggis munchers up there.
Because Scots are submissive, they literally voted no on a referendum to split from the UK.
>Free healthcare
>Free housing
>Free food
>All on the English taxpayer's dime
>Still have a say in UK politics
Let's face it anon, the Scots are more free in the UK than they'd be if they somehow wiped England off the map.
This is seen around the world. It's the same reason blacks complain about systemic racism in the US but won't ever try to separate and institute their own systems, or why Indians celebrate their independence from Great Britain only to immigrate to London by the millions. People want free shit and for someone else to do the hard work for them more than they care about full autonomy, within reason.
If you're talking about how it's endlessly parodied it's because it's iconic.
whoa slow down einstien
it's funny because the English proceeded to do just that
the entire movie is total kino though, despite being one of the least historically accurate movies ever made
>despite being one of the least historically accurate movies ever made
shut. the. fuck. UP
>Why do people constantly make fun of this scene
Wtf are you talking about, you braindead retard?
Slave mentality.
Because it's a memorable line. That's it. When people parodied "I'm the king of the world" they weren't mocking it, they were just referencing it.
