I'd seen ads and discarded it, but my ESL girlfriend installed it and I was pleasantly surprised. The commercial breaks are short and infrequent, and the content library is pretty good. I watched True Lies on Tubi, and it reminded me of watching cable–in a good way.

tubi's got a great fricking library for what it is, I'm always surprised at what they got.
Fricking hulu is what's ass. The longer you watch a show the more ads they throw, I guessing they hope you fall asleep so you don't notice but I watch 3 episodes of American dad and the ads aren't bad but after that it seems if I have to pause and get up when I unpause they make you sit through 30 seconds of ads, if you don't pause they'll make you sit through it anyway if you rewind.
And then it's like an ad break after every couple minutes.

There is one worthwhile alien documentary on there called Walking With the Tall Whites which features Charles Hall, an elderly whistleblower spilling the beans about the Air Force bases in Nevada where there's a secret off-world colony of tall pale aliens originally from 105 lightyears away who like gambling and yet have strong family values. The details told are too specific and mundane not to have an element of truth to them. For instance, Hall knew about the tic-tac UFOs and the planets around Tau Ceti in detail decades before both became known to the general public.

Tubi censors movies editing out nudity

depends on the movie, they don't censor all movies. If the movie has a lot of nudity it'll definitely cut out some of it. If it's a skinamax movie it takes most of it out, just take a look at the runtime and compare it to Wikipedia to know if Tubi censored it. It's a big problem I think it edits excessive violence as well. Since it only ends up editing a minute or so most people don't even notice. They do this to please advertisers. It's what sucks about the advertiser biz model

Only some of the films are censored due to being television edits. Most are uncut and uncensored. For instance, China 9, Liberty 37 is the infamous censored version whereas many foreign films are entirely uncut.

        Anonymous

They kind of take what they get from the distributors. Like sometimes they'll have the same movie under two different titles. Some of their series are also missing episodes or only have the first season.

          Anonymous

As for some series, the descriptions for the episodes are all mismatched and out of order. On the other hand, I've lucked out and found uncensored and high-quality prints of all of the Wilbur Smith films on there. Dark of the Sun, Gold, Shout at the Devil, The Diamond Hunters/The Kingfisher Caper, and The Seventh Scroll are all on there.

        Anonymous

most of the censored movies are softcore movies, they edit out all the sex scenes and most of the nudity, so while you might see boobs for 10 seconds, if you look at the runtime on IMDB you see they cut out 30 mins worth of softcore porn so you're left with a shitty movie without the fanservice

That's interesting. I've seen foreign, independent, and arthouse films discovered via rabbit hole that show just about everything and border on softcore. Obviously not Nymphomaniac levels of graphic detail, but certainly not censored. The runtime I think is correct for most of them, too.

          Anonymous

They're not doing shit. It's the distributor. 2 or 3 times now I've gotten ones that weren't labeled as edits but started out with a TV time and content edit disclaimer. Just like you occasionally get one with borked tracking or bad sound.
Meanwhile I've watched Jean Rollin and similar stuff on there completely uncut.

I was surprised how much nudity there was in the 70s, way more than those 80s movies like Porky's or Up the Academy

What’s the point when Tubi cuts all the nudity out?

          >making an account
It’s free. Why would I make an account? I doubt the original versions are available with an account anyway. I’m guessing you still get the edited versions.

Yes, Tubi shows most content uncut, including movies with violence, language, and nudity. Tubi is a free, ad-supported streaming service owned by Fox Corporation. It has an honor-system age check, so children can sign up and access mature content. However, some say that some Full Moon films have edited nudity out of their Tubi content. Tubi also has parental controls in the Settings menu.

I haven't noticed any nudity edited out on Tubi. Or even YouTube movies.

They got a lot of crap, but also a lot of good stuff. Just looking at the front page I'm seeing The Batman, John Wick trilogy, Kill Bill, Child's Play, Willy Wonka, Full Metal Jacket, Labyrinth and more.

It is said that André Michelin, whilst visiting a tyre merchant, noticed copies of the guide being used to prop up a workbench. Based on the principle that "man only truly respects what he pays for", Michelin decided to charge a price for the guide, which was about 7.50 francs or US$2.15 in 1922.[4] They also made several changes, notably listing restaurants by specific categories, adding hotel listings (initially only for Paris), and removing advertisements in the guide.

Tubi's great though. They don't play games with you with the ads. You can skip through a whole movie for a while and not see any ads, where some other services would show you an ad every single time you skipped past an appointed ad break.

I think it's funny they added a theme song to their intro where several different voices loudly and clearly refer to it as "Toobi" because me and everyone I know refer to it as "Tubby"

As for all of those complaining about censorship, I did see a few shows including Masters of Horror and 90s Outer Limits that were surprisingly uncut.

Justwatch.com is good for finding movies on streaming services. The only thing is it doesn't have the YouTube movies/tv section, so you have to go check that afterwards.

Super-omega ass. I've been watching shitty, early 2010s horror movies for the past 6 hours. it's been fun and it's kinda nostalgic, the cheesy 2010s style

    >Why do people disrespect Tubi?
It's by-far-and-large a dumping ground for stuff that can't even make it direct-to-dvd. The rough far, far outweighs any diamonds that have ended up on the service.
