Red Spectacles and StrayDog are superior to Jin-Roh but for some reason weebs only ever watch the animated prequel and never touch the rest of the franchise.
they're clearly made to look like FAMAS rifles but I think they're just props that they made, the sight rails aren't right, they don't appear to have charging handles on the top, and also nobody has an actual FAMAS
>diverts from the original manga
It's literally just the beginning few chapters and the last few stitched together with basically the entire actual plot of the manga removed.
I can see not liking Akira going in raw but the manga is absolute kino. FYI the movie only tells about half the story, Tetsuo is just getting started when the anime credits roll
it's not even close to half, the part with tetsuo getting captured and given psychic powers and going batshit crazy is basically arc 1 of like 12
>FYI the movie only tells about half the story
I doubt it's even 30%.
I just pulled out the mangas and took a look. It definitely isn't half. I have them broken down into six volumes and the movie shit wraps up at the end of volume two. Obviously though they still edited out some things from the first two volumes to get the anime down to two hours or however long it was
Only two volumes of the manga even existed when they started work on the movie. It was either only adapt a tiny bit of the series or just Frankenstein the pieces you had into your own story.
>the story is fine
from my memory akira is some psychic ghost barely connected to the plot, old psychic midgets fly around like dbz Black folk also largely unrelated to the plot.I think that just leaves us with canada and breastso's one dimensional character conflict
I'm told the film adapted the beginning and the very end of the manga series and left out like 75% of the story which you can really tell to be honest.

why would a motorcycle need a complicated computerized interface with a keypad and multiple screens
it doesn't even prevent a 14 year old kusogaki from hotwiring it
yea
it is kinda boring
story is a complete mess
90% of the effort in animation is put into things being destroyed which is cool for like 10 minutes but then gets old and kind of annoying
Because it’s good.

it literally is just a great movie from so many angles
One of the most beautiful animated movies ever
FIP
OP is 15 and lives on tic-toc memes and Prime energy drinks.
I liked it. I didn’t really like jin row tho

The franchise isn't across a consistent medium. You have comics, radio dramas, live action television, and animation. It's all over the place.
I'll give you Red Spectacles - but Stray Dog?
What did you like so much about it?
Stray Dog pure atmosphere and the atmosphere is unmatched.
Is that a FAMAS?
they're clearly made to look like FAMAS rifles but I think they're just props that they made, the sight rails aren't right, they don't appear to have charging handles on the top, and also nobody has an actual FAMAS
red spectacles had way to many goofy moments. the bathroom scene and the alchohol scene were awful.
>alchohol
i honestly get way more confused as to why i frequently see people who seem to hate it so much. is it just the cool thing to not like akira now?
Cinemaphile is contrarian. If something is popular, anons will hate it and whine about it even if it's good.
I'm not contrarian, I just have to constantly reinforce my delusions of superiority by disagreeing with strangers and making myself feel smart.
maybe stick to moeshit
It's boring if you're a kid suffering from ADHD.
I'm surprised that anime fans don't shit on it more seeing how it heavily diverts from the original manga

Not only that but in the movie Akira is chopped up and in pieces in the movie where in the manga Tetsuo meets him

It's mostly just a visual spectacle, the story is fine but it's stretched extremely thin.
>the story is fine

Manga and anime (movie) has nothing to do wich eachother. Its not an adaptation, these are two separated works.
It adapts up to the end of the first volume for the most part but then it does its own thing
I can see not liking Akira going in raw but the manga is absolute kino. FYI the movie only tells about half the story, Tetsuo is just getting started when the anime credits roll

It and the Kerberos series are really interesting in capturing a specific kind of anxiety about Japanese society and the first postwar generation
Is it worth upgrading from the bluray to the 4k bluray?
why would a motorcycle need a complicated computerized interface with a keypad and multiple screens

Computerized anti-lock breaks.
Some humans (vast majority of XX carrying chromosomes, so half Earth population) dont understand this masterpiece, this is a well know fact.
This but unironically
what makes you think he was being ironic?

The animation was great but the story did nothing for me.
This was some next level shit when i was a kid. Havn't seen it in years, i should watch it again, thanks for reminding me

obligatory autism
I liked it.
The backgrounds/bikes/costumes/etc all look good but the faces are moronic like all anime.
... that's cuz its anime lol. and one of the many things i'm not a huge fan of in the medium
That's because it's anime. One of the many reasons I'm not a fan of the medium.
the fucc goin on at the end tho? some babies and shit??
Revived Akira trapped himself, the three kids and Tetsuo in a new universe...Tetsuo is now the God of a new but empty universe.
anime watchers have autism, they dont get bored of things. they even prefer horrible pacing because they get overstimulated easily
Because of the animation. The actual story is kind of a mess since it's a truncated version of the source material.
yeah roger liked it
10/10 animation
10/10 direction
10/10 OST
It's OK, you're just a moronic plotgay OP. Nothing wrong with that.
Women and gay men can't appreciate any atmosphere that isn't a mall or restaurant. They also hate Blade Runner.
gamelan kino
