I don't hate her she just can't act. She lacks the ability to emote or deliver lines with any presence. It's like if an accountant tried to be a terrifying Sith Lord, it's just not very effective.

I don't dislike her as an actress and I don't dislike her character.

It's just that I wanted to see a show about Kenobi (and Vader) and the period between ROTS and ANH and so on ... and not on some jedi kid turned inquisitor having a change of heart and acting like hot shit. That's a different show that should've been made separately.

I cannot comment on her "as an actress" since I have no idea who she is, or anything prior to Obi-Snore Kanblowme tv.

I can comment that they wrote her wannabe villain character so laughably G.I. Joe cartoon bad that it's hard to watch as an adult, thinking they were going a deeper, more satisfying crunch with this product.

      Man was I ever wrong.
High Instigator #1 was almost a character, and definitely superior to her character.

The writing for Leia makes sense...but it makes no sense to have that same age-level of character writing for the adult characters.

My assumption is that they thought they could pull off the atypical, but less-developed versions of the movies, with no depth at all outside the cardboard box & labeling.

I get that. But...it's just not that interesting & you can't do that over and over with Obi Wan. He is literally a non-character with no back story and no future at this point, mixed with a bare minimum of hand-chopping and saying "NOOO!". The Inquisitors are not interesting. They are all so overplayed, it's just not good.
Ham is good if you got someone that can pull it off (High Instigator #1). But it won't work if EVERYONE is doing it.

Why they had to have Vader show up for what had to have been the weakest showing ever was...nonsensical. The show and story didn't need it. If I never see Vader again & it had just been Obi Wan with way better underground survival story of hard & high suspense on the run, I could dig it.

The things that could have been, and this, are far different things. It's a shame.

It's like they decided to do a lego cartoon movie as a tv show.

        The pacing is just amateurish.

Basically the entire series should've been a three-act situation but focusing primarily on Kenobi.

        >establish Kenobi's current situation and have him get called up to help with the Leia situation
        >explore his life, environment and struggles and the current galactic situation

        >the Leia thing was a trick to get him out of hiding, inquisitors are introduced with their internal scheming and we see that each one has their own agenda and so on
        >Leia briefly appears but since she was just used as bait she's whisked off to Bail and not dealt with anymore

        >Kenobi can't go back to Tatooine since that will draw the inquisitors closer to Luke so he has to deal with them however he can and he calls on some favors for that to happen
        >Vader shows up and then it becomes clear one of the inquisitors was actually in it to get to Vader and kill him
        >it becomes a free-for-all with Kenobi, inquisitors and Vader clashing in a series of fights and Kenobi manages to disappear again

        Something like that.

    >"Obi-Wan is going to bring the most diversity I think we've ever seen in the galaxy before,” Ingram told The Independent. “To me, it's long overdue. If you've got talking droids and aliens, but no people of colour, it doesn't make any sense. It's 2022, you know."

It absolutely makes sense. Black folk are a blight on human ingenuity. There's no way we're surfing through the galaxy with them still around.

I don't really get it either. I hate when they blackwash established characters just for the sake of the woke virus, but that's a new fricker. She's rather bad but still above most of the cast of the prequel and Boba Fat.

She's not a bad actress, this role was just horrendously written for her

It's almost like it was written for someone else and she got shoehorned in last minute and has no clue what she's doing

Her character is garbage, akin to Rey. For whatever contrived reason, she has ALL the answers so far in the story with none of the buildup. She's just not set up as an actual character, and the attitude she portrays breaks the suspension of disbelief in a fricking SCI FI MAGIC ALIEN series.

that is literally a picture of the final episode climax.

    >obi wan
    >sees his master die at the hands of a sith lord
    >kills him
    >the first jedi to kill a sith lord in a 1000 years
    >even with all the sadness and hatred during the battle, never fell to the dark side
    >trained anakin skywalker to honor his masters death wish
    >general of the clone wars
    >granted the title of jedi master
    >survived said clone wars
    >survived order 66
    >defeated anakin skywalker at his prime on a fricking lava planet

    >obi wan, the most decorated
    >obi wan, the jedi with most combat experience

    >final episode of the season
    >faces vader and nigress on sand planet
    >obi wan, the scared and wont touch his light saber

She’s a piece of shit, and it’s all manufactured outrage.
No one cared when Bills Dee Williams and Sam Jackson were cast, because both of them were great actors.
No one even cared when Billie Dee Williams was cast in Batman.
She sucks, is not a good actress, and it’s clear she was a “diversity hire”. All of her scenes are laughable. Yes, some of that is the fault of the writers/director, and they suck too.

It would be one thing if Hollywood was forcing hot, talented black women into things but they always pick the most stereotypical repulsive shaniquas they can find. I mean, what KFC did they find this one in?

This would be like if Japan started forcing ugly inbred Cletus the slack-jawed yokel types into all their movies and then if Japanese people complained they were like, "don't be racist against white people".

Terrible writing and directing. Their set design choices are just the dumbest thing ever.
    >Send out probe droids!
    >No frick you.
    >I went behind your back and spoke to Lord Vader myself somehow, and he agreed with me.
(Audience): Oh snap! No she didn’t!! Fr fr no cap, you go soul sister!
    >Oh no, I can’t do anything about this obvious chain of command jumping! So I guess I’ll leave my own conference room.
    It’s so tiring.

The really really bad parkour doesn't help her character at all either. It just seems so superfluous. There's no need to bounce back and forth the way she did in a forward momentum chase, other than to arbitrarily show off Force acrobatic powers? Doing a back flip into a front tuck roll? Why? That's counterproductive motion. Using the energy and wasting the time to jump over things you could just run around, why?

Reva wants to kill Obi-Wan because his padawan (Anakin) killed her master (unnamed green lightsaber Jedi training younglings in opening sequence) and will likely see in a flashback sequence Anakin with Sith eyes and robes commanding Order 66 Clone Troops to finish off some survivors so she can be sure its him and to hamfist some drama tension into the plot.

Besides all that, she can't act and is funny looking. Her problem isn't that she's black or that the audience is racist.

Don't play this game. Just please don't. In woke Hollywood only whites are villians. It was predictable that Darth Emo would turn good because the actor is a israelite, and it's predictable that Darth GimmeDat will really be good because she's black. Yeah they are that fricking shallow.

They'll end up doing some bullshit where she ends up being the hero that saves Obi-Wan for which the entire SW universe after that wouldn't exist without her.

If you don't think they're not that easy to read, you're blind.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for the purposefully totalitarian empire to be so diverse, It should be a bunch of old white guys to contrast the rebellion, which is diverse.
