I spent half a grand on all 14 hardcover volumes and now they're collecting dust. Are they as epic as they say, if I've no concept of the movies? I want to get into it but there's so many. Without overhyping myself and then feeling underwhelmed, I want to be in the right frame of mind before starting to experience the story right.
