Honestly I watched some episodes with my girlfriend and the acting is pretty good, interesting world and all that. But it's just so brutal, I don't understand why people watch stuff like this. I don't know if she ever escapes but goddamn every episode something truly horrible happens to someone and it never seems to get any better. Why put yourself through that?
I had the same thing with that movie climax, was really high on ketamine for that one and did not enjoy it at all. Was freaking out in my head the entire time. Maybe that experience programmed me into hating brutal stuff in media, where there's 0 levity or promise of salvation.

Do they ever address the part where the whole thing is based on historical records in the future, after the ultra neocons have been deposed? I don't want to bother with the show since it seems too chick-centered.
