Low IQ types such as you will take longer to understand Man of Steel or how PotC is much better made than any shitty big budget movie sugarcoated by nostalgia effect
Boats equals kino. The Phantom Menace is underrated. Man of Steel, Sonic and Transformers are good.
Is Sonic really this good? People IRL keep telling me it's rather good too. It literally looked like the latest cashgrab generic kids movie when it came out.
>Jaws is all practical
What do you mean? The special effects? I dont see how that would prevent it from being slop. Which I'm not saying it is but I am really not a big Jaws defender. Not even top 5 Spielbergs for me.
The term slop refers to films that rely on unrealistic, soulless, liquidy, uncanny valley computer-generated visuals instead of actual film making. If it looks like a pile of diarrhea, it is diarrhea.
Yes, Jurassic Park, Super Mario Bros. and even T2: Judgment Day are proto-slop. Not slop because they're still well-made movies and not lazy (except for Mario). But there's definitely elements of slop in them.

Well either way, slop is as old as the medium. Watch this asap if you wanna see some old slop. It will blow your fricking mind.
The Glass Bottom Boat[2] is a 1966 American romantic spy comedy film directed by Frank Tashlin and starring Doris Day, Rod Taylor, and Arthur Godfrey, with John McGiver, Paul Lynde, Edward Andrews, Eric Fleming, Dom DeLuise, and Dick Martin.[3] It is also known as The Spy in Lace Panties.[4][5][6]
Jaws is all practical, it can't possibly be slop. Jurassic Park def is, tho.
They're legitimately well-written crowd pleasers and well made blockbusters. You don't know what slop is. You're just being moronic teenagers who think disliking popular things is ebic.
The reason so many movies today are slop is purely and simply because they have all the tools at their disposal and they make lazy, low effort shit. They have great actors, hundreds of millions of dollars to spend, access to state of the art technology and they sometimes hire decent filmmakers. But what do they produce? Factory assembled shit with ironic detachment, quippy pop culture references and the worst fricking CGI you've ever seen. Movies that say nothing, push no envelopes and have nothing below the surface. THAT is what makes them slop. Failure to recognize that is why we keep getting it.
Man of Steel and PotC are not slop
good morning, sir
they are, reddit homosexual

nobody cares about your shitty movies zack.
Neither is The Phantom Menace. Or even Sonic honestly, it's a decent kid's movie and not a soulless cash grab like Jurassic World.
Avatar should be on the right side. Otherwise good list and true.
MoS especially is slop.
The first Pirates of the Caribbean is not slop
>cant talk can only buzzword
Pathetic.
>greentext and one smug word below
yawn
>new bad, old good
>Keanu.gif
All of these are spot on except 1st POTC was good, and Phantom Menace was soulless but beautiful. Maybe that was the start of the slop.
Nah, slop goes back to at least 1996 with Independence Day
Sonic, Avatar, Transformers and The Phantom Menace should be on the right. But other than that, good list.
Nah, Independence Day was pure summer blockbuster kino.
True and based.
Is Sonic really this good? People IRL keep telling me it's rather good too. It literally looked like the latest cashgrab generic kids movie when it came out.
lol no. It's an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie with a video game mascot character instead of 3 ugly cg chipmunks.
Phantom Menace was ugly but soulfull
>jurrassic park
>jaws
>pee wee
>not slop

Haven't seen Sonic but Man of Steel is mediocre and Transformers is legitimately bad.
Jaws and Jurassic Park are protoslope
Jaws is all practical, it can't possibly be slop. Jurassic Park def is, tho.

I think you should replace Jaws with Phantom Menace. You shouldn't have two Spielbergs anyways.
