Why does every dialogue interaction in this show feel like it's between two Skyrim NPCs?

>Corny dialogue
>Pause
>exaggerated gesture/facial expression
>other character responds
>rinse and repeat

That's every single scene. The one with the sith are watchable but the ones with Ashoka and Hera are particularly bad.

Also the costumes look so cheap.

The directing, writing, and performances are awful in this. Rosario Dawson is fucking abysmal in the role of Ahsoka. If I actually liked and cared about this character (she should have died in Order 66), I'd be pissed. But Filoni fans are braindead and never understood Star Wars to begin with so...

Visually she pulls it off. Rosario Dawson and MEW are not bad actors but this is the worst performance in television that I have ever seen in my entire life.

I have no idea how this got the green light to release. It's genuinely hard to watch.

Does she look the part? Sure. But every single one of her lines is delivered in the same nauseatingly smug and arrogant way. Her facial expressions and physical performance are extremely grating to watch. She's fine in other things, but she genuinely sucks in this. It doesn't fit the character at all.

Filoni didn't know that moderation was what made him likeable, and his furhomosexual OC not being everywhere, limited, flawed, and struggling against the greater course of the story was what made her likeable. Now the fucker has just reverted her to pre-season 1 characterization and Mary Sue tendencies.

Ever since Disney took over and he's had free reign to do as he pleases, everything he has done has been fucking awful. I think Jon Favreau was the only thing holding Mandalorian together before season 3 to be entirely honest. He tried but ultimately had little power. He was never going to save Star Wars or do anything greater than what we got with it, but he was probably the only reason that show even worked to begin with before getting bogged down in Filoni wank and Kathleen Kennedy's feminist mandates.

Whoever was in charge of directing clearly thinks "dramatic pause for effect" should come after every single sentence.

      Anonymous

This is correct. Too many characters make too many pauses in order to lend gravitas to their words. It sounds especially artificial when you realise that, when talking to tertiary characters, they don't do that.

Also, both of the Dark Jedi (?) also don't use pregnant pauses, instead being terse and to the point. They unironically sound more like experienced Jedi than Ahsoka.

Also, the "emotionless doll" vibe they went for on this character does not work. It's a waste of a good character and good screen time.

She should exude confidence and at least have some sex appeal, she should make the viewer concerned about the protagonists when she appears in a scene. Instead she's a fleshy droid that the actual baddy just sends around to run errands.

She's supposed to be the mirror opposite to Sabine, who is emotional, rash, undisciplined, and prone to outbursts.

Once again - and I think this is on purpose - she behaves more like a Jedi than Ahsoka and her pupil.

            Anonymous

No, we don't see any of that. She's competent sure, but we don't see her being calculated, and we don't see her being tested and remaining calm in a stressful situation.

Maybe she will be developed later on in the show but the first two episodes she literally does not emote, she does not react, she just goes "yes master" and acts like a droid.

The fight was not impactful like the fights in the Prequels and OT. It was just visuals and had no impact on the plot. There was no consequence to the chink getting stabbed, Shin didn't change as a character as a result of the fight. It could have just not happened.

Not really. I said she wasn't challenged or tested. You brought up the fight, I reply saying the fight was not impactful on the characters, and does not represent a challenge that we see Shin overcoming.

Goalposts have not moved. I still think she wasn't challenged or tested. The "duel" between Shin and Sabine felt like window dressing and did not provide the opportunity for the characters to react to it, or have their own arcs advanced by it.

The map doesn't lead to Thrawn, only to a gateway leading to the galaxy where he is supposedly stuck.

      >Thrawn is another galaxy somehow and everyone wants to find him because

Because he is the last Grand Admiral alive, meaning he's #1 in terms of command of the Imperial Remnant; because he's known as a brilliant commander; and because he has a huge fuck-off fleet (this hasn't been revealed, but the leaks state as much).

Andor was not good. It was not Star Wars. It had approximately two entertaining episodes with some action and stakes and a couple of decently well written monologues that clearly did their job in fooling midwits into thinking they were watching something high brow. But it was not a good show and did pretty much everything in its power to look and feel more like some Netflix/Syfy Channel cyberpunk crime show than being Star Wars. Enough with the delusion about that waste of time already.

          >Andor was not good.
          Wrong
          > It was not Star Wars.
          Based and true.

          > It had approximately two entertaining episodes
Basically everything from the three episode prison arc to the end of the season is very well done. The beginning is a little slow but it's still on a different level than Ahsoka.

Andor also never pretended to be "high brow." You even said yourself that
          >ts power to look and feel more like some Netflix/Syfy Channel cyberpunk crime show than being Star Wars.
Which is fine. That doesn't make it a bad show.

I always love seeing the language you people use and how obvious it is what you want to say
            >Very well done
            >A little slow
            >On a different level than ___
            >Which is fine doesn't make it a bad show
These are not things anyone who is confident in what they're talking about being good says.

The problem is, nothing in Star Wars is really Star Wars. It's a 46-year-old franchise full of people who say they love it but are never satisfied and content. Star Wars fans are orphans who don't grow up, nostalgic for an eternal childhood they never lived but are desperately trying to relive

I feel like this idea is being pushed because Disney wants to make room for a new, younger audience, but a too-young audience actually has never worked for Star Wars (See Caravan of Courage).
Star Wars' ideal demographic has always been something around 15 to 30 year olds.
And complaining about the older generation being nostalgic is also silly since its human nature for parents to want to live vicariously through their children so its natural for them to not want drastic changes to things they associated positively with when they were younger.

    Considering the current writers strike

The shows are airing now might unironically be written by AI bots

This show had to have been completed before that. And it feels more like the actors are AI bots than anything.

Andor still remains the only good Star Wars show and the only good Star Wars content since Rogue One.

Ok, but what is it exactly about communism that's so good exactly? And what actually is fascism? I thought that was only WW2.

I was trying to set you up so you could explain the real word political value of andors anti fascist and revolutionary themes, and why it shouldn't have to compete for funding with this other show filled with icky "biological" women.
