jake has daddy issues
lemongrab has mommy issues
bubblegum has uncle issues except her uncle is her son
peppermint butler has issues with his previous satanic form
LSP has parent issues but her parents are a conjoined glob
ice king, rainicorn, cinnabon, tree trunks, and BMO don't have parent issues (that we know of)
Jake doesn't really have daddy issues, he has issues being a daddy. The conflict with his space "dad" existed for a single episode and Jake got over it pretty quickly.
It's a shame, because I remember how much people really bought into the world becoming more serious and dramatic. Holly Jolly Secrets made quite a splash, and I remember even my parents being somewhat interested in Simon & Marcy, but if I knew about where it and stuff like What Was Missing was gonna pull the show, I'd gladly take it all back.
There's just way more enjoyment to be had in the show instead simply just exploring a fantasy world where anything could happen as they delve into a dungeon or chase after the wacky mcguffin of the week, and just getting really fukken stupid with it. Getting moronic with substance takes way more effort and has way more payoff than trying to be dramatic and elevated, and the Land of Ooo was the perfect environment for that.
And STEVEN UNIVERSE
The first season felt was the first time I enjoyed western animated slice of life, and I miss it as well. Just a bunch of space lesbian rocks trying to raise a kid with magical powers in a quiet town that shouldn't need them to save the day, but then things pop up anyways.

This unironically proves Gumball was the only 2010's show that was decent because it didn't rely on a really homosexual trend
Most cartoons have daddy issues. Just look at Homer, Hank, Stan, Bob, Peter, etc. They all have daddy issues. I think it makes sense it's an easy way to develop a character and to add in some drama/conflict. Plus a lot of people have parental issues so it's relatable and even people with good parents could relate because they could imagine how bad things could have been if their parents acted like that.
>TLDR: Many cartoons have daddy issues because it's easy conflict and character development. And it's something everyone can relate to because we all have parents.
Because all those writers/producers born in 1970 or before. But today "mom issues" are common in zoomers, our society have a change in gender roles, where most dads now want and get custody, and the mom reject the custody
>t. FPgay seething because his shitty shipbait waifu got paired up with a doughnut with Down syndrome
I also hate CB btw, but this is fricking hilarious lmao, she's fricking shit you've to accept it
Because the people who worked on it were stilted adult-children. With how western culture has determined that cartoons are for children, only the childish work on cartoons.
Because the writers and showrunners used their show for their own therapy section.
No they didn't, you made that up.
Literally only Finn‚ Marceline and FP have daddy issues
jake has daddy issues
lemongrab has mommy issues
bubblegum has uncle issues except her uncle is her son

Which doesn't change that is yet another "le evil butthole dad" for the thousandth time, imagine being so uncreative
>BMO
he/she did kinda with Mo.
LSP's issues seem less genuine issues, and more like LSP's just a whiny brat.
I liked it more when it was just Finn and his silly adventures and not some shitty teenage drama
Regular show did this too and frick them for that

Star Vs is a weird exception, where nearly all the dads are excellent dads, save for Ludos.

Writers had no idea what to do with Marceline and kept reusing the same shit over and over and over

i don't know what any of that means. i just hate cinnamon bun. go imprint somewhere else.
Cause the writers are rich Californian buttholes
Write what you know.
Because most millenials have daddy issues.
I love my dad
I'll probably hero if he dies before me
Relatability
How many so far have that Daddy issue?
