This is completely ignoring the fact that Anne become submissive due to her toxic friends and changed because Plantars treated her better. She can't change her INT 2 nor insecurities especially being with distant and snobbish people like the newt royalities. There is a reason why roadtrip movies doesn't have the character buy a bus ticked and let it take them to their destination, a story needs proactive characters if no you don't feel engaged in the story.
There is an anime that does the trope very well, in this show this girl gets trapped in this fantasy world inside a book, for like half of the show she doesn't want to do anything but return home but when she does, she realizes her friends is trapped in the same world too, and even though she returns home and see her family again who she missed quite a lot, she decides to return to the fantasy world again to get her friend back. Anne does want to help her friends at the end but she never shows any willingness to do so which makes her feel like an butthole.
Yeah but still for some reason 3:B felt weird, it was basically a checklist to get the army together but the army wasn't useful at all. They lost easily.
I did enjoyed Andrias' backstory episode which in my opinion, this episode should have been a 22 min episode instead of getting the Sprivy episode.
They should've made an episode where they find common ground between them, like their desire to be Anne's 1# BFF. Tons of arguing about who is better, Anne got tired of them and left, leaving them to handle things on their own. It could be a competition to see who is better and shaming each others for failing but later become impressed with each other's unique skills that they couldn't have done themselves, like Sprig's super speed and Sasha's buff biceps. Or it could be them forced to save Anne together and learning they need to work together if they want to protect the one they care about.

Season 3 took like 10 episodes to do what most Isekai Anime do in 1, there is a reason why nobody gave a shit until she returned to the plot.
When a character is on an adventure and returns home it shouldn't feel like a safehaven it should be a temptation for the character that they need to overcome.

When Taichi went back by accident and found Hikari he was happy but the moment he saw there was a way back to Digital World he didn't hesitate to take it, even if it hurt him to not see his mother and father, even if it hurt him to know he might not find a way back again, he knew he had to go back because of his friends and nobody bat an eye if he was there taking a shower, eating some good food and resting on a comfy bed because he only did it for some hours, he was quick to make his priority returning to help his friends.
Anne on the contrary stays way too long on earth doing whatever she wants and giving zero fricks about her two best friends, frick she even gives zero fricks about all the frogs that were left at WartWood!
The worst part is that she stays on earth for 2 to 4 months.
The problem is that they kind of wrote themselves back into a corner with Anne getting back to earth, they are left stranded on earth without the music box to go back, the planters are just some farmers with no idea what is going on and Anne is dumb as a rock to find another way to go back to Amphibia, not that there was one, so they only way for them back home was to find someone who was smarter that them who did all the hard work on taking them back to Amphibia which makes sense in the story but makes for terrible storytelling.
There is a reason why roadtrip movies doesn't have the character buy a bus ticked and let it take them to their destination, a story needs proactive characters if no you don't feel engaged in the story.
There is an anime that does the trope very well, in this show this girl gets trapped in this fantasy world inside a book, for like half of the show she doesn't want to do anything but return home but when she does, she realizes her friends is trapped in the same world too, and even though she returns home and see her family again who she missed quite a lot, she decides to return to the fantasy world again to get her friend back. Anne does want to help her friends at the end but she never shows any willingness to do so which makes her feel like an butthole.

They should've made an episode where they find common ground between them, like their desire to be Anne's 1# BFF. Tons of arguing about who is better, Anne got tired of them and left, leaving them to handle things on their own. It could be a competition to see who is better and shaming each others for failing but later become impressed with each other's unique skills that they couldn't have done themselves, like Sprig's super speed and Sasha's buff biceps. Or it could be them forced to save Anne together and learning they need to work together if they want to protect the one they care about.
