First, Conan is not simple. Thes sets and cinematography is not something you cobble together on a weekend with a 16mm, you moron. It has a great script to begin with and the Soundtrack is one of the finest pieces of cinema EVER. The you have a leading actor who comes along ONCE a civilization, meaning, a non-trained actor caricature who also happens to have the screen presence and charisma of Adolf Hitler and Freddie Mercury combined. Find someone like Arnold first, i dare you.

Capeshit is really just a continuation of what pulp stories started in the 20s and 30s. Keep in mind that the Indiana Jones movies were pure pulp too and they came around even later than the Conan movie.
