Post-Endgame burnout and the fact they're largely only left with C and D list characters to work with now.

And the A listers aren't much better we are left with the green guy that doesn't get movies and the guy with the worst trilogy of them all.

The problem isn't that they have C and D list characters to work for. Fricking Iron Man and Robert Downey Jr. Were a C list character and actor when all this shit started and these movies propelled both to A list.
The issue is that the Marvel formula has grown incredibly stale and predictable, the overall writing quality has plummeted, and they keep playing these new C and D listers too safe without taking any big risks.

        >and they keep playing these new C and D listers too safe without taking any big risks.

This is the biggest issue really. What made the MCU work was how they reworked old marvel concepts better than modern Marvel ever could. I honestly can't say any of the new avengers stand out the way the guardians or ironman did. Also everything is just a joke now so nothing matters. What's going to happen in Black Panther 2? Who cares Black Panther is not even in it. His little sister gets the suit.

They were already working with C and D listers, the A and B listers where owned by Fox and Sony.

This, the few times I've been have been a shit experience. From bad crowds to poorly run theaters (last movie I saw was a Regal where you could only get tickets from concession and there was a rattling A/C unit in the theater the entire time). The turnaround on them dropping on streaming is so small anyways that I just wait now.

This movie has no hype among black people. It's not masculine at all and feels so white. I can't believe we went from T'challa vs Warmonger to this. Black people like DBZ, not woman drama.

I feel like it was a big missed opportunity to not have Mbaku as BP 2 and Shuri as Warmonger 2, having a 3 way ideological fight at the end where Mbaku's goal is to stop them from fighting by fighting as BP himself. They even play with the idea of Shuri being more like Warmonger, but the just make her BP anyway. I feel like it was a rewrite.

        >They even play with the idea of Shuri being more like Warmonger
It was the most interesting part of the movie and it lasted like 5 minutes. God forbid we have interesting character dynamics in these movies.

        >I feel like it was a rewrite.

MCU's plans hinge on the YoungAvengers/Champions lineup. Every remaining MCU movie is about that.
It is why DoctorStrange MOM was all about America, why AntMan3 will feature Stature, etc.

They were of course going to cast the young girl as the new BlackPanther.

I still can't believe they're doing this young avengers shit. The MCU was carried on its back by the charisma and talent of the Phase 1 heroes. You cannot do that again with teenage actors. You just can't.

Disney realized actors age and now they're desperate to farm some new heroes that can last decades. Honestly the real problem is that acting is a dead career path. People don't want to act in movies anymore, they want to do social media. People like Logan Paul would ironically be A-list actors this day in age if social media wasn't a more powerful pull to them.

A bunch of kids coming together to stop Kang is literally the plot of the Young Avengers, and it's the only good Kang story in the last 20 years.

It wasn't a good movie. The whole thing was all over the place and probably needed like an extra month of rewrites and an extra month of editing. The bjt where Shuri learns the moral of the story mostly flashes back to stuff from like half an hour before that scene and she wasn't even there for half of it.

I've wondered lately: I see many people profess discussion over a film long after it premiered to be indicative of quality, or at least of cultural zeitgeist. The sooner people stop talking the worse it is apparently.

Is it truly because most modern movies are hollow and lacking, or is it because we get more movies that fill that same niche more often now that we simply move on quicker?

God of War Ragnarok was genuinely a better "movie" than any of these shitass capeshit movies, and I think it's because the video game industry is nowhere near as complacent as Disney/Hollywood since video games are inherently way more of a risk.

Most movies dont have a big twist or mysteries left. Pair that with less rememberable moments and less big/good actors.
After you watched a movie you dont have anything to discuss or talk.

They just don’t have the same appeal that the comics used to. Part of it has to do with the fact that now these sort should of films have become a political statement to go see and there’s no real winning move whether you see it or not depending on who you are. Not to say comics haven’t had politics in the past (world war era shit springs to mind), but once you reach the point where your audience are either actively trying to bar races of people from seeing a film or insinuating that if you don’t see it as part of their race you’re a traitor, you really need to go back to the drawing board and figure something out. The other part is that you have a lot of writers trying to reinvent the wheel and pumping out a product that’s honestly just mediocre at best because they want to give you their vision rather than just grabbing from the DECADES of good stories and interpreting them into a new visual media. Change the core aspects too much and you kill off a lot of potential for OG fans who tend to be loyal to a fault once you get them hooked coming to see it. I mean compare MCU stuff to the big monster movies genre. Yes MCU stuff will make a shit ton in the release but the drop off a week later is massive because they switch up the formula a bit too much for the die hards to recommend it to their circles. Unless you want to be lynched by the people that remember the travesty of 95 you can’t really switch up the formula on Godzilla frying another monster’s face off with atomic breath while destroying a city as that’s the core aspect of the films. Ergo, you have a more faithful albeit likely smaller viewer pool.

MCU was built off hype momentum and the novelty of newness. No one had ever seen a shared continuity of films on such a scale, and for the layman who only knew a handful of Marvel characters like Spider-Man or Hulk, the MCU was providing them with an incredible slew of new characters they may not have paid attention to otherwise. But it’s been nearly 15 years at this point. If the MCU started when you were in high school you’re now in your 30’s and still expected to get hyped for shit you may not see until you’re almost 40. That’s a long time to stay on the same hook, even if you are a nerd. The pay off of Endgame felt like a natural stopping point, but they kept going, and still with the same mentality that everyone will be hyped for the next big event when really the best thing for the brand is to slow down and do small stories that don’t require 8 hours worth of other movies to get. People aren’t enthralled by superheroes just being there, where once you couldn’t imagine someone like Moon Knight having his own franchise, now we can barely turn our heads for the next Spider-Man project because it’s just so ubiquitous it’s not special. Also, trends just naturally change and people naturally will move on to the next one no matter what. Spielberg was right, superheroes will go the way of the western.
