Breaking Bad surpassed it a year later.
His no rewatch value, b***h.
This. I enjoyed BB at the time, but Sopranos is entirely more rewatchable, cozy even.
After watching the sopranos you realize just how bad a lot of BB really is. Sopranos honestly puts it in the dirt. They aren't even in the same universe of quality.
BB could have been really very good: it has a lot of very meaningful scenes and episodes. what really lets it down is its lazy, focus-grouped ending, which gives the normies in the audience exactly what they want and reduces it to a show about how being a meth kingpin is really kind of cool acktually, wasting all the ambiguity that had been built up throughout the previous seasons.

Vince is a hack and you're a homosexual
Ok then why has nothing surpassed Breaking Bad?
BCS
Breaking Bad is nowhere near the level of greatness that Sopranos is. even Better Call Saul mogs BB. BB is great the first time watching, but re-watches are a shore... Sopranos on the other hand gets better every single time.
A lot of tv shows have. Sopranos sucks.
name 3
No show after could have racist main characters without the audience being woke scolded about how evil/stupid they were for not liking moolies very much
never seen it. sounds overhyped
Filtered. We don't need you in /speak/
It has. It's called The Wire, bozo
I personally think these two are perfect, meanwhile I really like The Sopranos but it would he a better show if half a dozen or so shitty episodes were cut
Yeh, I couldn't help but feel as if the Sopranos was overfilled with clutter. Especially in the earlier seasons, particuarly with Tony being in love with Melfi
>missing the point of the sopranos this badly
There is nothing wrong with the series from the Pilot all the way to the Season 3 opener. Even A Hit is a Hit isn't as bad as most make it out to be. The real dip was when Livia's actress died and the writers had to retool the entirety of season 3 to fit around her absence.
>riding the dick of the sopranos this badly
Calm down anon. Every show suffers growing pains, stop sperging out over Tony Soprano
The show gets worse later on, just like breaking bad. The seasonal plot beat of "old friend comes back, gets whacked" becomes really tiring by the end.
The Wire borders on capeshit too much with characters like Omar and Mouzone. Also Black folk killing eachother over pocket change is nowhere near as interesting as the mafia. Season 2 was the best season.
those were real dudes. nigs have their autists too
Mad Men was better
You don't have to like it but it do be like that
seriously frick off
mad men is god fricking awful
the wire i can understand (still wrong)...but MAD MEN? You must be mad, man!
Reddit, same with Breaking Bad. Cinemaphile is The Shield.
The Terror. Too bad there was only one season.
People love to act like this show had anything to ruin when after 2 episodes it was entirely about a giant magic cgi bear
Is the second season really that bad?
its a completely different show, while also being shit.
Mad Men. Thats my two cents.
I'm not /misc/ but I get a bit fedup of constantly politically correct shows so the Sopranos is a nice change away from it.
>Watched first season
>giving an opinion on an entire story
Seems reasonable
Twin Peaks is the peak TV show.
Its not a perfect show. also its very different from everything that came afterwards. most episodes feel pretty self contained on sopranos, much of it doesnt even really need to be seen in order. breaking bad and other crime shows made since are much more plot oriented and focused on this happens, then that leads to this....etc. sopranos will have an episode about tony being mad at his uncle over something then without any setup the next epiosde tony is on a business trip in italy
Product of its time. In the early 2000s you didn’t have every episode of a TV show at your fingertips. So if you discovered a show partway in, you had to be able to follow the general plot to keep tuning in.
thats why its not the greatest show ever to me, its one of the best and it influenced many things but its far from flawless
>t. youtube clip watcher
Sopranos is the perfect drama, with character depth unmatched in any other movie/show. The Wire is like watching an amazing police/crime/political novel series, with each of its seasons being an individual book. I don't think I'll ever be able to decide between the two.
>I don't think I'll ever be able to decide between the two.
Id pick Sopranos because its the funniest of the two.
I loved the Wire but it didnt seep into my brain as much as Sopranos which I find myself quoting in my head all the time.
I rewatched both shows in recent years, the last season of the wire pretty flat out sucks. If It could have ended at season 4 maybe I could say its better then sopranos, but it didnt end at 4
It is the weakest season because it has the most going on with the least amount of episodes, David Simon wanted 13 and they only gave him 10. Also on rewatches I can understand McNulty and Freamon becoming blackpilled and throwing ethics to the wind
>you're not gonna believe this, guess who just came out from prison

It only happens twice in the entire show, feech and ritchie. Besides, mob guys are either working the streets or in prison, so it makes sense that new characters are introduced that way.
