There was some behind the scenes trouble that's come out recently which really soured people on it. Apparently, shooting with Alec Baldwin can be murder.

I don't know but of all the shows in that NBC lineup (the office, parks and rec, 30 rock, community) 30 rocks feels the most dated. Maybe it's the pop culture references or just the way it looks but it doesn't feel quite as timeless as the others. It's still the best one though

The fact that they all look like shit really doesn’t help them. I fail to see the reason that sitcoms moved away from studio audience set-ups when all they did was evolve into boringly photographed, single camera set ups with lighting that is just as bad as any studio sitcom.

All of these shows feel the fricking same whether you’re talking about 30 Rock, The Good Place or Schitt’s Creek. It’s soul crushingly bland.

I think that was just comedy in general at the time. Films too, not just sitcoms. Ordinary settings, relatable characters, minimalist cinematography, awkward relatable humor. The office brought that style into the realm of sitcoms

I liked Parks n Rec but never got into any of the others, why was that? Every time I hear people explaining the Office, 30 Rock or Community I cringe at what they think is funny.

I don't know. Parks and Rec was just The Office but significantly gayer. Maybe it has something to do with that?

There was absolutely no gay characters on Parks n Rec? There were on The Office however?

Parks and Rec was gay. That doesn't mean there had to be gay characters. It was for a very gay audience.

Does it get better. I've been watching a love slopcom's (community, my name is earl, wilfred, etc) over a year or two and I tried watching this recently and couldn't get past episode 2. Just doesn't feel like it's doing anything particularly special yet.

give it a season to find its footing and you'll find it to be the most joke-dense show with the highest JPM since Arrested Development. Nothing released since comes close.

This show is one of the most painfully unfunny cancers in the history of television.

    Tina Fey is not funny.
    Tracy Morgan is not funny.
That blonde walled bimbo is not funny.

Alec Baldwin and Jack McBrayer are the only shining lights in the whole show.

Most of the show is the most lame, cringe-inducing, npc humor that you would find in awful shows like The Office.

Don’t know if you’re concussed or not, but 30 Rock was hardly politically incorrect. Maybe by today’s standards, but if that’s enough to praise a show, I should be singing about how awesome Friends as a show was because they had an episode about humiliating a troony.

NTA, but it wasn't politically correct. Tracy was a moronic black man that couldn't read. It had a character named Toofer because he was a "two for one" in their diversity requirements for hiring.

It even did well in syndication while newer eps were airing still. Final season is a mess, but it just vanished from discourse. You'd think such a unique premise, that actually had success, would've had some staying power.
