One of the big tobacco companies spent millions on research and development and after years of work, came out with a cigarette that had 95% less carcinogens than standard cigs. It never got released, because by the time it was ready to market, it was the beginning of the era of tobacco companies facing major lawsuits, so releasing the safer cig would be a full admission that had known for years exactly how bad cigarettes are, So ironically do-gooders suing tobacco companies to try and get shut down prevented the release of a far safer cigarette.
