they want to push zombies to help sell the depopulation effort. vampires puts a target on the backs of the right people
Built for BBC
My gf just watched the whole series again.
chinkanzee moment
>after they fricked up Sabrina so badly
Sabrina tried so hard to be the next Buffy. That's why it failed
for me it was Big Wolf on Campus/ Le Loup-garou du Campus
Buffy = Black woman
Giles = Troon
Xander = Gay
Willow = Black bisexual
Angel = Indian male
>Xander = Gay
Xander was gay in every possible detail (except wanting to frick guys).
well he was joss' self insert so
They literally tried and with a black woman as buffy but stacies lost their shit and got it BTFO
Woke shit does NOT work when it’s something normalstacies care about they’re too powerful
>tfw all it takes for this shit to stop is the media to just turn on it
At least buffy got saved but they should do it with everything else too
>stacies
Even more fun, it was the SJW feminists who were crying (one among all was Anita Skewhatever from Gamer Gate).
YOU GET WHAT YOU FRICKING DESERVE
I wouldn't mind this
Worst possible timeline. The only thing even more putrid would be a troon (and not just a mutt who looks like one).
It's called the vampire diaries
>Teen Wolf
>The Originals
>Legacies
>Supernatural
>The winchesters
>Sabrina
>grimm
>The Magicians
>The Shannara Chronicles
>vampire diaries
shit
>Supernatural
mid show with some fantastic seasons, also not really teenaged
>Sabrina
wasted potential: the show
>grimm
boring version of Supernatural
because the property is owned by (1) Joss Whedon, who is persona non grata in Hollywood right now, and (2) Fran Rubel Kuzui, the director of the original 1992 film, a person without talent.
Crazy Head was the closest and it died after one season.
whedon was cancelled
Its not a great show to start with. I tried rewatching it last year and it doesnt hook you in at all, every episode is the same shit. The only thing it has going for it is nobody has a smartphone and everyone is white, these things will not make it in a reboot.
Should I watch this show or is it too young adult ?
Watch it. It's absolute top percentage orgasmic kinography.
Watch it. Better than most shows today
it’s comfy kino to binge. I dropped it in like S4 when they go to college though I’ll probably pick it up again to watch angel since I hear that’s good
Angel is superior to Buffy for me but maybe that’s because it’s more masculine-oriented in its themes and is more relatable for men
this, Buffy was lightning in a bottle honestly. The cast was perfect, they carry so many bad lines and wonky storylines. Imagine the cringe bullshit lines that Willow had to say being delivered by anyone but based Aly
the girls all peak in season 3 though so push on
yeah it's insane how attractive almost the entire cast of Buffy and Angel were, a lot of shows were like that at the time (Charmed and VIP come to mind)
The case with Xander's actor is the funniest because the guy was too ripped for the role so they made him wear comically oversized clothes for the entire show to hide his body.
Maybe early seasons but he became an overweight addict in the later seasons, he becomes visibly puffy.
Last season maybe, but even in like season 5 when he gets split into his shitty and ideal versions and you get to see him shirtless he's still pretty built.
>made him wear comically oversized clothes
That's just normie 90s fashion
That wasn’t the reason but they did have him stop working out. The problem was nick brendon the actor was raped as a kid by a producer and had a lot of mental demons. He worked out to escape depression: when he had to stop that for the show he turned to drinking and it became a addiction
>Imagine the cringe bullshit lines that Willow had to say being delivered by anyone but based Aly
just watch the pilot and the original person cast as willow. she was terrible.
Angel was superior because by then, Whedon knew exactly what to write and how to flesh it out after testing things out with early Buffy.
The last season of Angel is good if you viewed it by itself. But, if you saw all the other episodes and all the buffy episodes it becomes some of the best TV ever. Only thing they could do to upgrade it is use modern computer special effects.
I watched it for the first time recently and enjoyed it a lot. Last season is shit though.
Season 4 has some good shit but overall it kinda stumbles around because of the scenery change and because they didn't plan their many storyline for the season out very well.
>their many storyline
*their main storyline
Watched it recently and I had to jerk off 2 times in the first episode alone because of how hot SMG and Cordwlia were back then.
I don't think I can last an entire season.
Do it. You have 7 seasons and 5 of the spinoff
There's just something in that late 90s early 00s fashion that makes me go HMPHH
Frick I'm not gay but even the guys are all handsome, modern tv is not even trying.
Angel actor mogs 90% of dudes in modern series.
>Angel actor mogs 90% of dudes in modern series.
That`s literally how Boreanaz got the job. The casting woman had held a few calls but no guy was hot enough then, by pure chance, she saw this angelic guy walking his dog on the street and, one would assume, concealing her lust offered him the job not even knowing if he was an actor or anything.
I never seen universal love for actors like Angel and Spike. And to think the dude who played Mr Trick was in the running to play Spike
>There's just something in that late 90s early 00s fashion that makes me go HMPHH
It's because it was the pre-9/11 era. Even though the final season of Buffy was fall 2002 to spring 2003, it still had remnants of that era.
Girls embraced being girls and feminism wasn't as nearly as toxic as today's shitfest.
season 1 drags but it finds it's footting in season 2 onward
Watch it.
Because only SMG can be Buffy. It`s that simple. They could certainly have a new slayer for this generation but SMG is forever tied to Buffy. Personally i think they could get away with adapting/ canonizing Melaka Fray, the slayer of the 23 century introduced in the comics and achieve some Buffy meets Dark Angel like thing. Taking enough distance from the original show would allow them to do all the mandatory changes in the name of diversity or whatever they need to be happy while still calling some members of the original cast to replay their roles as guest stars if needed. But hey, what do i know... i`m five by five with them not touching the damn thing again. I loved it but it`s done.
>i`m five by five
Reminder that Faith and Buffy should have totally fricked in season 3 but Joss was a huge gay.
Would be in character for Faith, not so much for Buffy.
>not so much for Buffy
Jokes aside, Faith and Buffy were written gay as shit for a lot of their scenes together, especially in the second half of season 3. Writer came out and said outright that's the intention
Joss should have just gone with it and made season 3 a love triangle between Buffy, Faith and Angel.
If that was their intention I never really felt it. Maybe I need to rewatch season 3
>never really felt it
Faith drew a heart on a window, called Buffy girlfriend constantly. At least Faith's character was almost overt in how much she wanted to bang Buffy
Which makes sense seeing as Buffy's the blonde straight as an arrow cheerleader and Faith's the slightly loose girl from the bad side of Boston. Practically writes itself.
Funny enough though, Faith has never been confirmed getting it with women even in the comics, but Buffy did.
I feel like Faith definitely banged Lilah on Angel though in that one episode they meet outside a bar.
haha what if they had a threesome as the season finale haha so funny right?
>Faith and Buffy were written gay as shit for a lot of their scenes together
I bet you write off Frodo and Sam as gay too.
>Writer came out and said outright that's the intention
Yeah I'll take some anonymous dipshit's word for it. Frick off.
The writer was Doug Petrie, pretty sure this was either an interview or the commentary from one of the home releases.
Also Eliza herself says she played it as lesbian subtext.
>I bet you write off Frodo and Sam as gay
Half a century of difference between the type of writing each work, different context of the relationships (Frodo and Sam were not equals) and really nothing they ever did approached gay.
> Writer came out and said outright that's the intention
I would only believe that if they said it's because they thought it would be hot, but given that they are probably retroactively claiming this for progressive points, it's bullshit.
I dunno when they said it, but I don't think this is a result if present day SJW pandering
It was just hot lesbian subtext like we used to half in the 90s and 2000s.
God I miss that. Now a days you pretty much have anime and that's it. Can't have lesbians on TV unless it's a while shitty woke thing.
>love triangle between Buffy, Faith and Angel.
Now that would have been an acceptable price for losing one`s soul...
He could have just nutted inside Faith while going down on Buffy or something. As long as he's not nutting inside Buffy, soul is safe.
Always found it weird how the only thing that makes him truly happy is nutting inside Buffy. Like nothing else can possibly trigger it, unless he finds something in Angel, I haven't seen that show.
Also why didn't he go do the bullshit demon's gauntlet like Spike did? I don't see how Spike could know about him but Angel wouldn't.
It's nutting inside any girl he's currently in love with
In Angel, though it never happens, they use a spell of some sort to create an illusion of him having sex with Cordelia, and since he's in love with her at the time, it works and he goes evil
And he didn't do Spike's thing because presumably you have to be soulless to do it and a soulless Angel could give a shit about doing it.
Spike was capable of goodness without his soul, even if he still had fricked up vamp morality. Really calls into question if vamps are entirely incapable of empathy and good deeds.
>presumably you have to be soulless to do it
Oh yeah, duh. Should have though of that.
>Spike was capable of goodness without his soul
His goodness was still motivated by self interest ultimately. He got his soul back so Buffy would like him.
It was more than just self interest. In the robo Buffy episode he took a beating to protect Dawn from Glory and he didn't brag about it or try to use it for points. Only reason Buffy found out is because she tricked him into admitting it by pretending to be the bot. And there's other moments in season 5 even outside the rampant lust for Buffy.
Season 6 it all went to shit because Buffy encouraged his worse traits. They were shit to each other. Except Spike's a vamp so he took the shittiness to attempted rape levels.
it was a little strange that angel never felt true happiness with baby connor. i think that had darla not died at the same time, the birth of connor could have potentially changed angel to angelus.
>gets a baby
>turns into Angelus
>eats it
It's the ciiiiircle of liiiiife
angelus was a sickfrick so he'd probably do that
Buffy had sex with a Nip slayer in the comics
they will and buffy will be played by that troony from euphoria
>slayer
>troony
You know jokes aside, that's actually something that could be interesting.
A slayer is always a girl, but it's also magical so it isn't rooted in anything genetic or biological so you could go one of two ways. Either a troony woman that manifests the powers before transitioning, or a troony man that manifests the powers after transitioning.
If nothing else, it'd be interesting, and it could be as horror inducing as you want so doesn't even necessarily need to be pro anything.
who would you cast in a buffy reboot?
buffy summers - sabrina carpenter
angel - jacob elordi
there's no way he can compete with early seasons boreanaz, he had that perfect mix of brooding mystery man, psychopath and teen heart throb
I would have cast Erin Moriarty pre-wall as Buffy
>Erin Moriarty
with dark hair she would make a good cordelia.
erin moriarty does resemble charisma a bit.
Has to be some unknown 16 year old girl who never acted before
she's barely been in anything. girl meets world is still her most high profile work, which only lasted a few seasons.
She’s 23 years old and too substantial looking. It’s over
23 is a problem, but smg was not an unknown when she was cast, she was on a prominent soap opera before hand.
You need to be thinking more along pic rel lines. I think she would have to be unknown and prepare to be typecast
Oh frick off with the reboot, there is zero chance it would be good anyway.
Tara was the best girl in the show and I want her to suffocate me with her musky pussy
Too based
Season 5 and 6 is relentlessly kino but it’s jarring because all the characters get suddenly unspokenly aged up to their IRL actor ages because they’re way too old to play 19-20 year old college students. You just have to headcanon that they’re all like 30 now in the show.
>ywn leave high school, live in your parents basement for a while and suddenly become a construction foreman like xander.
It happened with Cordelia at the beginning of Angel as well. She’s clearly playing 30 in that show, not a teenager.
the pregnancy and mom/Karen haircut didn't help
The dead mom episode in season 5 might be one of my favorite episodes of television. Christ did that come out of nowhere
speaking of, the first Dawn episode legit had me wondering if i hit a time warp or something
I never got that because when she's first introduced it's at the end of the episode so it's clearly a surprise moment.
The next episode being completely casual about her worked better
yeah, there's never an official time skip, but it's clear in the final season that they're written as if they're in their late 20's-30 years old. it even weirder with angel, who's not supposed to age, but in angel, especially in later seasons, he's written and looks like a mature 40 year old.
This were Spike and Cordelia in Supernatural 10 years ago
What's your guys' favourite monster of the week episode?
I just watched Gingerbread from S3 and I really liked it, even if it's a little rote in places
The first halloween was great. And the musical episode.
“cute sperg dressing like a bawd” is such an under utilised theme
she was so hot in this episode it was unreal
I found her vamp version hotter
>giles asks willow about her costume
>she says she's a ghost
>he goes "...the ghost of what?"
always made me lol
t i t e
Yeah it was a kino episode, and not just because of Alyson Hannigan's tight fricking midriff
i wouldn't call them my favorites but the show had some weird episodes like the guy dismembering cheerleaders to build his frankstein brother a bride and the one where the swim coach wanted to throw buffy into a rape pit for his mutated swim team
>the one where the swim coach wanted to throw buffy into a rape pit for his mutated swim team
Yeah that was a weird one
>when the coach gets thrown in at the end and the implication is they either eat him or use him like that
The puppet demon hunter is the first on that comes to mind.
I liked a lot of season 1 more than the average person though.
You're not weird for this one at all anon, I think most people really like this episode
The Gentlemen from Hush. The best part was Giles' presentation about how they go into towns, seal up people's voices, and then take hearts. The fact that he drew them with crayons and colored pencils like a kid drawing really cemented how creepy it was.
The alternate dimension episode where Buffy never came to town
The wish does a follow up episode though. Dooplegangland sees vamp Willow come to town and it`s pretty amusing.
For me it’s the episode where buffy is in hospital and there’s a spooky demon killing people
that’s the scariest episode
For me it's Faith being loose in Buffy's body
Unf
>she will never paint your peenus weenus cherry red
>that YOU SICK FRICK storyline about Wesley being guilty about being attracted to Cordy when Charisma is in her absolute sexual prime and the actors are only a couple of years apart
Cordy was always best girl
>snap fingers
>instant breasts
is it possible to learn this power?
It's even worse because Cordy was into him too and was using it all to frick with Xander
Wesley did nothing wrong.
Wut, they already did with the daughter from Mad Men. It's on UK netflix.
That was Sabrina not Buffy, stupid.
>fricks your mother
>ah Buffy it seems your mother has died and you’re now wageslaving in Burger King to support your sister and also willow who has mysteriously just moved into your house without paying rent!
>good luck with that LMAO *leaves*
He did give her some money
Depressed Buffy in season 6 was such an amazing character arc but it basically required everyone in her life to become a piece of shit inexplicably
Luckiest demon in the series. The dancing demon would win if he got away with marrying Dawn.
>any last requests?
>pls pee on my face
Who was the best singer in the musical episode, Giles, Spike or Tara?
the mustard singer
Spike by far. I listen to rest in peace all the time. His line is great in walk through the fire is great too
>I hope she fries, I’m free if that b***h dies
An animated continuation of the show would be cool, as long as it doesn’t follow the comics, because the storylines in it were too moronic in comparison to the actual show.
An animated continuation would be just as moronic, if not more
As opposed to rebooting and/or having wrinkly old SMG and James Marsters embarrass themselves?
Smg would just be a watcher. Maybe use that face youngening technology for spike. Would be cool to see his love play out watching her age while he stays the same
i just started buffy. i'm on s1e8 now. everyone knows about vampires after the big vampalooza at the bronze a few eps ago right? or did i miss something where there was a mass amnesia spell? i don't get why all the npcs at sunnydale aren't totally freaked out
People rationalizing supernatural shit to an insane degree is just sort of par for the course in the series. Although spoilers for season 3 it's revealed when they graduate that just about everyone at school knew supernatural bullshit was going on and that Buffy was saving their asses, it was just sort of an elephant in the room that no one wanted to address
didn't the next episode say people rationalized it as some weird drug craze
It's brought up and partially explained a number of times over the series. Without spoiling too much, people are aware but don't know what exactly happened or how to deal with it so they just ignore it and get on with their lives and a lot of stuff is deliberately covered up.
thanks based spoiler conscious anon
it's coming chuds
THERE'S A DEMON IN THE INTERNET
>I know, I'm a technopagan
Also that line about where she dangles a pendulum from, was that implying that it's from a pussy piercing?
>that's not why i dangle it
i literally don't know what she meant by that but if i were giles i would've pounced on her like a lion
Is Buffy good? I just finished the X-Files, and want another 90s show to fill the void.
It is, but don't expect x-files
Yeah, go for it. It's got some things in common with X-Files too with the whole monster of the week format
>monster of the week format
Awesome. Those were my favorite episodes.
When you're done check out the monster of the week of Supernatural
i just started it and it's really good imo. loving it so far. i love little things aside from being instantly in love with buffy, like how no one (aside from cordelia) has a cell phone and how just now computers are being put into the library and people are learning about email and internet for the first time
Are you watching it on Comet?
yeah it just started this week
It's a product of its time. I was in 4th grade when it premiered and some things are a bit stale, but overall it's a solid watch. Especially the later seasons heavily involving Willow.
Was Caleb the only good thing to come out of season 7?
It would be just like the Charmed reboot, black up the characters , introduce modern politics and amp it up to 11.
I never understood why they rebooted Charmed. It was perfect was it was though to be honest, I genuinely enjoyed the Shannon Doherty seasons just like the original Beverly Hills 90210. The first 3 seasons were dark compared to the Magic School, mermaids, superheroines, and other shenanigans they did later on once McGowan was casted as their long-lost half-sister.
Charmed was the Charlie's Angels of the late 90s/mid-00's. It was unashamedly Jiggle TV, the actresses didn't even wear bras and you could see their nipples poking through their shirts. You can't get away with that today.
Also, it casted attractive white women who were straight in San Francisco. You can't get away with that today, hence why they made them Latinas.
i never knew that nathan fillion played a heavy
