Why is?

Why is Cinemaphile obsessed with Detention? I personally find it the least funny out of all the 90s WB comedy cartoons tied with Waynehead. Even the DC cartoons were more funny and comedy wasn't the main focus of them

They wanna coom on the goth chick

For me I just find it interesting as it was the end of an era for Kids WB. It aired at the peak of Pokemania and was quickly forgotten about as a result, but it was the last slice of life conventional Kids WB cartoon. After that Kids WB became obsessed with anime and action programming.

Actually, I think Generation O was the last slice of life conventional Kids WB cartoon, but Cinemaphile never seems to talk about that one

It was but via syndication with Sony Television, Detention was however the last conventional slice of life made specifically for Kids WB.

        >but Cinemaphile never seems to talk about that one

        Detention: has a goth girl
Generation O: does not have a goth girl

        There's your answer

          >Detention: has a goth girl
          >Generation O: does not have a goth girl
It really is that simple. Back when Tumblr and Livejournal were still viable, there were whole blogs cataloging about background goth & emo girls that you didn't have for any other archetype (at least for Western animation, besides tomboys at least).

I remember it specifically because it and others got wrapped into that 1 Pokemon marathon

That Jamie Kellner sure had an obsession with making every cartoon about child characters.

Jackie Chan Adventures was about Jackie Chan and he was an adult

Because Kid's WB was 4th in a 3 dog race(seriously, think about what else was competing with Kids WB- Fox and ABC are a given, but what did NBC/CBS have in 96-98? And frickin' UPN's block was somehow just a notch below Kid's WB, and what did they even have?)
Then suddenly, in 99 they get Pokemon, and Batman Beyond, and Pokemon, and they dominate every other station. The lesson they took from this was that their shows weren't selling because they were more for adults with adult/older protagonists.
(Tom Ruegger thinks the lesson they took was "air anime:, but honestly Kids WB had far less anime than Fox Kids did)

Then how did Jackie Chan Adventures become one of Kids WB's most successful series if the main character was an adult?

True, it wasn't a Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh level of success, but it was probably their biggest hit outside of those two with how long it was on there

You didn't mention Nickelodeon and that was clearly the most popular network

Also, how did Nickelodeon become more popular than Fox Kids? I know for a fact Fox Kids was more popular during the early 90s, but then somehow around 1996 or 1997, Nickelodeon became more popular on saturday mornings than Fox Kids
