Why is Batman able to bounce back from bad content better than other heroes?

Why is Batman able to bounce back from bad content better than other heroes?
There was one bad Green Lantern movie and it killed the character. Superman IV was bad and Superman didn’t get another movie for almost twenty years.
Batman has a couple bad movies, boom not even a decade later he’s back on top.
Batman V Superman sucked - Superman appeared in Justice League and nothing else after that besides incredibly minute cameos. Batman, the other half of the film, got a great reboot, two great reboots if you count Joker
Is it just pure popularity? He’s too big to fail? Bad movies, bad comics, bad cartoons, nothing sinks Batman

    >Batman has a couple bad movies
Clearly you mean Catwoman because Batman has no bad movies.

It's one guy, the same one who's been making all the Adam West Batman threads over the last few days. We're discussing it over on the other thread he made

        >Why is Batman able to bounce back from bad content better than other heroes?
They will make that, is not "batman" doing this. even with "bad movies" the had good revenues and good receptions at the time, surely better than green lantern

        still op is a bot

Why are you all insisting I’m a bit or spammer or something? Check the archive

I literally wrote this thread just now, today, for the first time
        This isn’t a repost
I’m mostly just salty we haven’t got another Superman movie, and that Green Lantern is so dead

Sorry, there's a lot of programmed autopost lately
Anyway is mostly money the real indicator, batman attract many kind of audience, superman less, green lantern even less etc
So there will be many more batman and spiderman movies

It's a chicken or egg thing. Batman is the only part of the DC brand that has been consistently profitable for Warner regardless of quality. So DC invests more in him than in other characters. Which allows him to bounce back better. Which leads him to invest more in him than other DC characters. repeat.

It also helps that Batman being a rich blue-state city boy makes him much easier to write for people from that bubble in a way that fits in more with their values of the world being a gross nihilistic place, as opposed to Superman a red-state farm boy who believes in yucky things like truth justice optimism and america being a good place.

Batman more consistently has good movies, both in critical and financial success. Even if one or two out of each series of films does badly, DC just has to look at the one or two big hits to justify trying again. I'm not aware of any big hits from green lantern and superman hasn't had a particularly successful movie in a while, so it's much harder to justify trying to bounce back.

I really hope Superman gets a good movie before I die
Didn’t mean to make that sound dramatic, I’m only 23 and I’m not dying anytime soon
I just hope it happens in my lifetime. I loved Superman so much as a kid. I hope when I have a kid, there will be some cool new Superman content we can watch together
We’ll always have George Reeves, of course. And Christopher Reeve. And collections of old comics. And the Fleischer cartoons. And STAS. I guess if my kid likes old movies…
