She has a pretty unique appearance that stands out among new heroes, the lack of pants being one highlight but frankly Ronnie was absolutely right in how the color pink is so underutilized by the super community, Gwen pretty much has a monopoly on all things pink now.
Her primary gimmick as a IRL grill thrown into marvel comics is also a niche exclusive to her in Marvel, and having a continuous 25 issue run with very solid writing is an accomplishment very few nu-heroes manage to achieve. Spider-Gwen, Miles, and Kamala are the only other ones that immediately spring to mind.

My motivation behind the ship beyond it working well is also that if it succeeds, the 1. America will become a far more human and tolerable character due to the way she bounces off of Gwen, and 2. We will get a TON of Gwenpool content since Marvel’s current writers seem to like America.
She has a strong design and gimmick. A pink and white deadpool suit that shows off her legs and lips, who underneath is a blond with pink highlights in her hair, who ALSO is comic savvy? Of course people remember her. The only problem is the most interesting thing she does is look sexy and break the fourth wall. I mean I imagine she fights and shoots guns, but the only time I recall seeing her actually in a fight was Deadpool beating the shit out of her.
