Only good thing to come out of it was the Deathblow book, even if they race swapped him. The twisted villainous Justice League characters was fun if underbaked. I want more of evil Ollie with a private island he uses to torture people he thinks are wicked.
Well, in modern DC canon, he showed up very briefly in the new WildCATs book as basically a Great Value Shazam, a kid who can just turn into a big sorta Superman type at will, as a throwaway antagonist. He was present for a single fight and then just disappeared from the book.
It's crazy how easy they could've been in. Majestic could've been THE hero in universe before Superman but retired/fricked off until the current age, Stormwatch could've been straight up the UN's answer to the JLA, WildC.A.Ts should've been tied more to DCs Cosmic side while they & the Daemonites try to not get the GLs involved, etc.
There’s a lot of Wildstorm stuff they could have retcon incorporated into DC’s Golden age era, post-McCarthy era, Vietnam war era, and 70s to 80s era.

Alright but how do you make something like the Authority happen or work within the main DCU without destroying the status quo? Also you already have the Suicide Squad as your government sanctioned blackops team.

Make Stormwatch the "face"of governmental capes instead of a black ops strike force, but without the usual trappings of being just a face and ineffectual so the super kewl black ops team can shine. And the Authority work as a one-off that get beaten/talked down.

There was no proper way to integrate Wildstorm characters into the main DCU without changing the core of them. For example, if Black Adam existed in the Wildstorm universe, he would suffer the same fate as Kaizen Gamorrah or whatever his name is.
I think a heavy emphasis on the C in WildCATs, having a shadow war between the Kherubim and Daemonites that stays mostly hidden and only sometime spilling out into the rest of the workd could work, but otherwise, yeah. Mayyyybe the Authority pop in from their own dimension to wave their dick around once.
Good design, and he was suppose to be a Superman type like Shazam. He fought a Superman from a random earth and seemed on par. But then DC had the Prime version come in overpower him with zero effort and turned him into a huge joke.
Majestros visited Metropolis at one point at the end of his then Wildstorm run (after the sale, so Wildstorm was then a DC imprint), and that lead to a four issue mini where both of them were on the main DCU and then Majesteros went back to his universe in a new on-going.
I've never read the Atom book that I assume you are thinking of, so can't comment on what happened there.
Yea you’re right it was in the early 2000s. It was a story called strange visitor. It gets overlooked because I can’t remember if it was before or after the godfall arc
I think it fell after Godfall, but not sure why that should matter, but it's been forever since I read THAT and I've read the Majestic series that leads into the Action/Adventures cross-over issues, the four issue mini and the new Wildstorn/DC ongoing more recently, in fact I own some of those issues digitally (legally, not pirated) because I like McGuinness art that much.
Yea you’re right it was in the early 2000s. It was a story called strange visitor. It gets overlooked because I can’t remember if it was before or after the godfall arc
That's the same augmented Captain Atom that also killed several Green Lanterns, several Flashes, several Supermen (including a Superman with enhanced Kryptonian abilities), and etc. Also fought augmented Superman-Prime to a standstill.
That's the rebooted New52 Majestic, not the Wildstorm Majestic. New52 Majestic is more like DC's Sentry but no where as powerful. Was originally a human that got experimented on and thus acquired his powers and deteriorated mental state. DC really can't help themselves with their attempt to shit up the Superman analogs like Shazam, Majestic, Apollo, Icon, and etc. Always gotta make Superman super special by making Superman significantly more important and powerful in-universe.
New52 Majestic is an adult experimented on and driven insane with ties to Team 7. Rebirth Majestic is a kid who Shazams into Majestic and is just an butthole with ties to Halo.

Which is so fricking stupid, considering that Final Crisis made the point that they're ALL equal; it's just that Earth-0 Superman is the "lynchpin" Superman.
Yep. Overman is still The Last Son of Krypton on the inside; he secretly laments that his arrival to Earth led to a world of suffering and doesn't want the same to befall all of existence.
I've always liked his super suit. Though its funny how they go that angle with Overman.. meanwhile Red Son Superman is over there and which regime.. ah frick it it doesn't matter I guess. Also, who drew that? Its nice.
Okay everyone who isn't a literal "What if Superman landed elsewhere" and black Superman, and anyone not named Billy, Apollo, and Majestic.. who the frick are these others?
At least three of them are suppose to be expies of Samaritan of Astro City, Supreme, and Ultiman from Big Bang Comics. The black Superman with the afro is Sunshine Superman from a universe partically saved inside of Psycho Pirate's mask from all the way back in COIE, Superman 2 from the end of All Star Superman is in there someplace, I'm sure one of these guys is suppose to be Miracle Man, too

Just some rando. Morrison purposely left a bunch of these guys unexplained because he assumed DC would let other writers fill in the gaps. Even in Multiversity, he left 7 worlds unexplained so that future writers could make up their own worlds.
>What if Superman landed elsewhere
Most of these, even people like Sunshine Superman (a/k/a the black superman who is not President Superman) either landed in Kansas and are found/raised by the Kents or landed someplace very similar and were raised by people like the Kents, simply with last names.
They are the Superman of their dimension, not a What If version. Even, for example, those two black versions, are not communist or nazi, nor anything else along those elseworld lines, but simply a different superman across the multiverse.
At least three of them are suppose to be expies of Samaritan of Astro City, Supreme, and Ultiman from Big Bang Comics. He's drawn a little older than I would prefer but I assume that's the Earth 1 (old Golden Age) Superman, a/k/a Kal-L (no "E"), the one who married Lois first and came back in Blackest Night.
The post-Flashpoint New52 didn't really do the Wildstorm characters any favors. Did nothing but give us bastardized versions of them for the most part. Could had a rebooted Wildstorm that takes place in it's own self-contained universe but nope.
The problem was the same problem with many of the Didiot's ideas - the ideas themselves were not necessarily bad ones, the execution and follow-through sucked ass. And he also sometimes just had stupid ideas, which were not helped by his lack of follow-through and his inability to execute well, most of them time, or over a reasonable length of time to help them 'stick the landing' so to speak.
This is why I hate Supermanz such a high and mighty self rightous gary stu. No one can beat him because he's got to be the best and the purest super hero of them all.
In the first Mr. Majestic run, it's revealed that he did have a son, Majestrate, who came with Majestros on the Kherebum ship that crashed on Earth 3000 years ago. Majestrate didn't survive the crash, but Majestic was able to store Majestros in a transdimensonal stasis until he could regenerate a body. When Mr. Majestic finally recovered Majestrate, they had a few good adventures, then to stop a star hole manifestation that was a result of what Mr. Majestic needed to recover Majestrate, the kid sacrificed himself to save the world, like a real hero.
Due to Majestrate's two deaths and as far as he knew Zealot's pregnancy miscarriage (Savant was introduced as Zealot's younger sister and as a tweeeest was revealed to be Zealot and Majestros' daughter), Majestros refused to love anyone during his time on Earth. Plus, Kherubims have a hard time to breed. He's not like Omni-Man.
Yeah. Despite them actually loving each other for 3000 years, the last we see of Majestic in Wildstorm was him getting his back broken and got spirited away by Nemesis, who fricked him for a month or three until she got pregnant, than left. It's implied she was being mind controlled by this. The last frame has him move his arm as he finally started healing.
World's End was some fricked up shit for our boy, though. Thanks to some time manipulation that Nemesis was trying to avoid for the end of the world, Majestic became some sort of tyrant and tried to remake Hawaii into New Kherub, before he decided to go back to being a hero- which was when he got paralyzed.
I don't exactly hate Nemesis, but she is a pretty terrible Mary Sue.
A thousand Superman clones(the High) crash into the Earth at the same time causing a total doomsday event. Every book sorta floundered in a post-apocalyptic Earth for a bit, then some top notch reality warpers duked it out and the heroes gathered every survivor they could onto a Battlestar Galactica and went into space.
>Why do so many Superman expies mog his drip
There's a famous quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupery "A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." which is why the one thing that never really stayed consistent with Superman past the first several comics was the 'S' emblem. Everything added to the design was quickly dropped and anything that was removed got brought back, because it made him look worse.
Superman was designed to remind people of circus strongmen. Superman expies are to remind people of Superman. It's usually done by adding a bunch of flashy-looking crap that has no real reason to be there.

This is my #1 issue with most superhero expies in general. Hard to think of one that doesn't run into this problem. Omniman comes close, I guess.
Honestly, shit like this is why I enjoy reading comics, even though this aspect is considered a turn off for a lot of people.
All these publication tracing and inconic legacies always makes it feel like you're delving into more than just fiction, because this right here is basically rediscovering modern history.
Real talk: Majestic wouldn't tolerate Homelander bullshit and beat him to a pulp.
Entirely off topic, but since I vaguely recall the League of Villains or whatever the buttholes are called in Wanted having multiversal travel to go fight, and presumably kill, more superheroes for fun, I'd love to see the Millar's edgy homosexuals fight Ennis' edgy homosexuals.
Ed McGuinness got into comics because he won $50,000 from a scratch off and was able to devote himself to it full time for a year.
Just thought that was interesting.
The post-Flashpoint New52 didn't really do the Wildstorm characters any favors. Did nothing but give us bastardized versions of them for the most part. Could had a rebooted Wildstorm that takes place in it's own self-contained universe but nope.
So, I'm writing a knockoff Majestic/Omni-Man and I want him to betray his alien empire as a just as keikaku thing when they attack. I'm not sure if I want to start with that or do some buildup basic hero shit first.
I'd argue there's enough other Wildstorm stuff you could just not do the Authority when transplanting them into DC. Hell, their best stuff never really interacted with the rest of the Wildstorm stuff.
His drip alone makes him worthy of a few threads surely.

Yeah Omni Man, Homelander, Apollo, Mr Majestic, Hyperion, Gladiator, Supreme, and several others mog Superman's outfit.
Super Lord Superman's even mogs his good counterparts.
>Super Lord
Justice Lord fren.
Lord Superman has whited sideburns now?
>Lord Superman has whited sideburns now?
its from a Batman Beyond era comic from my recollection
That's correct. In the same book, Terry in a "Magneto" Batman Beyond batsuit fought and held his own against Justice Lord Superman for a bit.
Nice
Is it weird to have discoloured sideburns as a minor fetish
Sentry's design is lame though
Base yes, Death and Merged are dope though
>MCU greebles
>red & black like babby's first edgelord OC
Very gay
Any decent hero and many indecent ones would do everything they could to put the golden manchild down.
Eradicator is cool.
Why does superChad cause so much seething among the mentally ill?
>Eradicator is cool.
Maybe, but his costume sucks.
He had a cool costume during the Mr. Majestic miniseries.
It's not too bad, aside from the random floating, glowing bits.
>kinda gives me the DCAU version of Amazo vibe.
I think its the eyes.
NTA but I did say here
that this robot design for Eradicator is in some way better. kinda gives me the DCAU version of Amazo vibe.
>several others mog Superman's outfit.
You didn't read a fricking thing I wrote, did you?
You don't understand. They put out a magazine ad of their mascot killing Mario. That means plumber boy's done!
Seethe
It's not so much you refusing to read what he posted as much as it is you not being able to read what he posted.
>mog
Superman unironically made a big brain move. Decide a war by having the supreme commanders duke it out.
Pictish Scotland used to do something like this. Two clans have a beef? 40 vs 40. Whoever wins gets their way.
>Superman was designed to remind people of circus strongmen. Superman expies are to remind people of Superman.
This is my #1 issue with most superhero expies in general. Hard to think of one that doesn't run into this problem. Omniman comes close, I guess.
It's not a problem if that's the intention.
>least talked about Supes expy
that would be Rutherford Princeton III, and it's because he's dead
>black
good
hey, he saved your ass in WW2
We fought the wrong enemy in WW2
and you still lost
Did they give Injustice 2 Superman the thing Majestic is wearing
Majestic in a suit is an underrated look.
>Gambit, but gayer
Pass
Only a matter of time
I want to make a Superman expy that is secretly a robot.
Am i the only one looking at the thumbnail and thinking it looks like he has the Hulk Hogan handlebars?
Probably my favorite design for Eradicator.
Does anyone have that chart with all the Superman expies from different companies?
Yes
No
Maybe
I do
Frick you butthole
Have bunch of them
Honestly, shit like this is why I enjoy reading comics, even though this aspect is considered a turn off for a lot of people.
All these publication tracing and inconic legacies always makes it feel like you're delving into more than just fiction, because this right here is basically rediscovering modern history.
If we're including every small studio, this should include Sunstar and Penultiman from Ahoy Comics
That story was supossed to be published by DC.
I think this image was made about a decade ago, judging from Samaritan being at Wildstorm and mentioning Arcade Comics
Wait, the black terror is a Superman copy? I thought he was a Batman's
I enjoy Teuton's design. Shame about the homosexualry, though.
Real talk: Majestic wouldn't tolerate Homelander bullshit and beat him to a pulp.
Every single other Superman Expy would pulp Homelander within ten minutes of meeting him. Hell even Superman would consider it
Entirely off topic, but since I vaguely recall the League of Villains or whatever the buttholes are called in Wanted having multiversal travel to go fight, and presumably kill, more superheroes for fun, I'd love to see the Millar's edgy homosexuals fight Ennis' edgy homosexuals.
>read a fic last night where Alexandria from Worm snapped Homelander's neck
Everyone thinks Homelander is the weakest Superman expy because no one remembers Public Spirit.
Is he weaker than Brightburn?
cope
Those shoulder pads are the worst part of his design. He'd look a million times better without them.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I like Olympia
Who?
Ass thread
I agree I came in here thinking I was about to run into legit Mr majestic fans. Thread is lies and disappointment
Wildstorm barely has any fans, most people only discuss about Gen 13 and the Authority
What makes someone a legit Mr. Majestic fan, anon?
I found Majestic pretty handsome
Ed McGuinness got into comics because he won $50,000 from a scratch off and was able to devote himself to it full time for a year.
Just thought that was interesting.
That's interesting
I'm going to write a DC fanfiction starring Mr. Majestic.
Nooo! I'm already doing that!
I liked the issues of him in the DC universe
Ass thread
kys
Majestic was basically just "What if Superman really was like how he was described in Kill Bill", right?
The post-Flashpoint New52 didn't really do the Wildstorm characters any favors. Did nothing but give us bastardized versions of them for the most part. Could had a rebooted Wildstorm that takes place in it's own self-contained universe but nope.
But now THE GRIFTER gets to be a major player in the DCU!!
Wade Wilson called
And he said Red Tool is better
Grifter have fans? DC keep attempting to make him a thing but people still don't care. Grifter basically got reduced to a Batman sidekick.
>Could had a rebooted Wildstorm that takes place in it's own self-contained universe
Ellis did this. It was awful. I prefer the New52 versions.
>Why does my character being wanked cause others to be annoyed?
I bet you seethe in Batman threads over muh batwank.
So, I'm writing a knockoff Majestic/Omni-Man and I want him to betray his alien empire as a just as keikaku thing when they attack. I'm not sure if I want to start with that or do some buildup basic hero shit first.
Do some build up first
Honestly of all Supes expies Majestic has the best design.
He reminds me of Kirby
>Kirby
The pink glob?
It happens.
Ellis can suck a dick to death
I'd argue there's enough other Wildstorm stuff you could just not do the Authority when transplanting them into DC. Hell, their best stuff never really interacted with the rest of the Wildstorm stuff.
Most people haven't read those series sadly.
>Supes expy
funny
superman was a captain marvel expy
>dumb Hispanic doesn't know history
Put something other than dbz power levels in that brown head of yours, Pablo.
Not at all and I like Shazam more
>Why
Because of HIM.
Because he mogs the other expies
