Nah they say how they met.
People got mad because they spent a whole season on Barney and Robin's wedding, then they get divorced the episode afterwards. The mother dies of cancer, and Ted goes back to Robin.
>The mother dies of cancer, and Ted goes back to Robin.
this would work at the end of season 4 but not some four years later when Barney basically becomes the main character with most character development and thought put into who he is and what he wants to do with his life, meanwhile Ted is just jerking around waiting for the mother.
Not sure why it was ever popular in the first place. I guess it came out just in time to capture the millennials in their adolescent to young adult, college-going phase, where there was a demand for romance shit. And Barney's antics was a draw. There's nothing to the series, really, only popular because it got lucky with timing.
All the characters are extremely unlikable and unpleasant to watch. That latter point is the kicker, there are plenty of great unlikable sitcom characters but they have to be fun to watch.
Prime example of writing yourself into a corner, too much total runtime. Bet ya, they could've done it all within 3 seasons and it'd be looked upon as a classic.
Because it was shit. It was mildly amusing for a season or two. But Barney became annoying as frick. Marshall was too cucked by that c**t Lily. And Ted was a whiny b***h. Robin was cute until she got that moronic haircut in season 6 or 7.
Not to mention the mother was goofy looking.
Because it's a Friends knockoff and not a good Friends knockoff like Coupling
Coupling was genuinely great. Great comedy with very little lame moralgayging like mutt comedies tend to have.
I remember years ago people on here being pissed about the ending. I never watched it but I assume that could have affected it.
Wasn't the whole conceit about "how I met your mother" a guy telling his kids how he met their mother and then he never says how they met? lol
Nah they say how they met.

that's pretty fricking stupid ngl

Never watched it.
Why did they spend so much time at a single bar? That's extremely autistic. I don't know anyone that does that.
It's right below the apartment, right? It was the closest and easiest one to get to.
They live downtown NY right? Can't be that hard to find close by bars downtown.
People got mad about the ending, which dooms any goodwill
Same thing that happened to GoT really

Dunno I was too busy watching King of Queens
Big Bang Theory was superior in everyway.
lol, words cannot describe how painfully unfunny was this show
I didn't say it was good, I said it was the superior of the two. It also didn't bungle the end and suffer what
mentions.
I think a lot of the hate TBBT gets is from angry redditors who don't like that the show is making fun of people like them.
I remember seeing the phrase nerd blackface here a lot too closer to the time it came out
GOT effect. Unpopular ending wipes it from cultural existence. Even though I liked him and Robin as a couple
Same happened to Lost and Dexter
For me it's Robin
didnt doogie howser cuck the 'main' character extensively?
smug upper classed c**ts, I want to punch all of them

the only reason the megahit cobra kai show exists is because one throwaway joke from this show. that's pretty cool i guess
pretentious fart huffer new yorkers (yes i know the show makes fun of their pretentiousness, no it doesn't make it tolerable to watch)
It's another "reddit the show"
It's a rip-off of a shit but successful show with a dumb gimmick. It's a testament to goyslop enjoyers everywhere that it gets mentioned at all
Shit ending. And to add insult to injury, turns out they had a perfect ending edited and ready to tun, but they relegated it to a dvd extra
