A reminder that Carl Barks was credited with creating the manga and anime through his big fan Osamu Tezuka.

First, anime does get rebooted. Though at lower levels than western IPs.

But more importantly, modern anime is bottom of the barrel garbage that has zero lasting impact because it's all made for teenagers and third worlders who care little about quality and just want to watch whatever is currently trendy.

They don't NEED to reboot things because they put out a hundred different piece of shit shows every single season.

This. People make reboots for more money and to attract more nostalgic people who want to watch their old characters in the new one. But most such reboots in both anime and cartoons are crap and there are hardly any very good ones to watch.

Because they aren't completely soulless husks laser focused on what suits say will make money.
Even then there's been Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Fruits Basket reboots recently, so it's not like they don't do it too.
      And nu-Ducktales was great.

It's different when anime does it. Anime cares about art not money.

For what? Maybe the first episode and the first season, but the rest I would disagree.

It's different when anime does it. Anime cares about art not money.

And anime works for money, don't be fooled. The point is that people appreciate anime more because of the supposed sweetness and good stories and action and that there is no censorship like in cartoons.

Ask this man. He contributed the most with that. Although Disney management is mostly to blame for that, who gave idiotic advice that nephews and Webby should be the main characters instead of Scrooge and Donald, not realizing that children watch Donald more than his nephews.

It's enough that Angones made a terrible finale the moment he heard that his favorite Darkwing Duck would not be getting a reboot.

Why are Lot3c threads max comfy and filled with quality discussion while Ducktales threads are always the worst thing in human existence?

The OP image is Nu-Ducktales, but the discussion is more about the use of reboots in anime and cartoons. So no one got off topic. Read what the OP wrote again.

    You do?

They came back to dragon ball over and over. They brought back Naruto instantly. There's a trigun remake, like 10 Eva remakes, a bleach remake, Fullmetal, hunter x hunter, fruits basket, Hellsing, devilman, fate, sailor moon, Lum, Berserk. And that's just reboots I randomly noticed because I had some interaction with the original; I've been out of the anime game for a long time

Doing the next arc of the manga isn't a remake though, that removes like half of your list

        Anonymous

It only removes Dragon Ball, Bleach, Naruto and Berserk. The rest are reboots in the sense that they started from scratch in a different continuity.

Anime is a sell-out industry as much as Western Animation is, the difference is how they do it.
WA panders to the most general audiences, that being kids and their parents, by using the most safe routes to produce content, while Anime panders to otaku by making wish fulfilment content for them.

i don’t even get this like legit don’t.
anime is bad because it caters to people who watch it instead of people who don’t watch it? because it doesn’t censor as much as us?
because it doesn’t need to insert idpol into itself?
all you’ve done is make anime look better ffs.

          its self contained.
in the west kirito from sao would be genderbent half disabled and ambiguous of race and the story would somehow be even worst even though sao’s story was always dogshit but somehow they’d find a way.
also the budget and art would be cut by 99%.
          thats just one example.

In terms of strict reboots? Can't think of many except maybe outside of Gundam, but that's more different timelines than reboots.
In terms of different adaptations of the same source material throughout the years:

    >Bastard!
    >Devilman
    >HunterxHunter
    >Spriggan (Kinda)
