Why is SML so popular?

Saw my younger cousin watch this, I don't get it. How do you get so much money and subscribers by making edgy talking puppet/plush cartoons?

From what I do understand, it's a Mario parody that got DMCA'd so they had to use new legally distinct characters.

It appeals to young boys (a demo most current year cartoonists despise)

      Yes
And it's genuinely funny and somewhat wholesome.

So moronic children like seeing grown people playing with toys making skits with them? You're saying if I make a channel similar to this, I'll get money?

You have to actually be funny on some level to do it properly and have vocal range, but you can try.

And children like seeing grown people drawing pictures and talking with funny voices over them.

        What's your point.

PS. Lots of people try, most fail.

Learning that Indian content farm videos and mascot horror is popular because there's literally nothing else out there for young boys just makes me depressed
Why has society allowed this? In our pursuit of being mature and artsy our kids are growing up on peak slop.

Their too busy brainwashing and indoctrinating little girls.
Hell, male heroe's/characters don't have sons or mentor boys anymore unless the homosexual agenda can push some gay pedo angle.

It's creepy as hell and everyone sees it.

Mascot horror is horrible. Same with the developers too, except for developers like Scott Cawthon (FNAF) and mystman12 (Baldi, if that even counts). They actually seem like nice people. Poppy Playtime is literally made by a homosexual content farm channel.

As someone who watched SML in like 2008 when Logan was literally just a kid uploading videos he made with his friends, there’s a few reasons.
First, there’s just the fact that he’s been doing it for so long. He’s been uploading to the site for nearly 16 years, so he naturally just built up a loyal fan base through time alone.
Second is the type of content he makes, and I don’t mean just specifically puppet videos. Of course the puppets do cast a wide net to draw in children to watch, but it’s more so the type of humor he uses, which I would describe as “edgy preteen/teenager” focused humor. Most of the jokes are pretty straight forward so kids understand them, he swears a lot so that also appeals to kids and teens who view swears as cool and a sort of “rebellion” against being told not to cuss. And he also pumps out content like a motherfricker, a 10-15 minute scripted, acted, and edited video every 2 days sounds like it would get fricking exhausting after all these years but he’s still doing it.
And third, just the story of the channel itself. Started out as SuperMarioLogan, made videos on it for years, but then when YouTube demonetized the whole channel he literally just started uploading new videos to an entirely different channel. And this happened multiple times, genuinely I think he might’ve burned through no less than 7 channels by this point in time.
And then there was the entire ordeal of him getting on the actual news because he made a video where a puppet tries to hang itself, and then a kid saw it and tried recreating it and got injured, and basically he got blasted by the mass media and labeled as a danger to children. And then that all led to the point where he got legitimately sued by Nintendo and was forced to never use any Mario character in any single YouTube video ever again, and he basically made OCs out of all the Mario characters he was already using.

Comment was too long but in short, the life story of SML feels like some kind of lolcow territory that someone could make a fricking documentary series out of.

Any Bowser Jr video from around 2015-2017 are normally really solid. Very much peak middle school boy humor.

    >fail to appeal to core demographic
    >they still exist
    >they go elsewhere

Young males have parents with money and in some cases, money themselves.

You aren't going to get this demographic if everything you make has brown gay women as protagonists.
Flooding the world with troony propaganda isn't actually going to convert boys into your target audience.

It's basically just Family Guy-tier moronic shitpost humor for Gen Z/Alpha boys. I think it's funny but it's definitely a case of quantity over quality.
