what i'm trying to say is clothes are moronic. don't spend a lot of money on them. just cover your bits. get them for free if you can. don't worry about it. nobody's watching.
>problem with aesthetic
You are sounding a lot like a fricking liberal arts major buddy. Aesthetic makes stuff pleasing to look at and keeps fat dykes out of the picture.
i'm really trying to hold myself back here. you have no idea what grounds you're treading on right now. i went to fricking art school dude, i saw this shit first hand. your assertion that fat dyke b***hes don't love the concept of aesthetic is blatantly fricking wrong. i'm trying to be nice, but you're fricking me up here. and don't come at me with some shit about how i went to art school. i know what i did. doesn't make you any less wrong.
One of the worst movies ever made. Squanders more top tier acting talent than any other movie ever made. Just an endless parade of lame sex jokes and bad CGI.
Bro it's shitty cosplay and everyone with half a brain who has operated a bicycle once in his life immediately spots that it's just random cogs and bolts glued to a fedora and some wacky Glasses
It was only embraced early on by very autistic nerds (with no actual technical knowledge) that we would now call 'sohy' 'cringe' 'reddit' etc. It's actually a cool aesthetic and have no hatred towards the people who liked it. It seems to have got tied up with the nerdy steampunk goth hardstyle subgenre in a weird way.
Authors, generally, mess up with history. The idea is that it should be the Victorian society with alternative technologies. Instead, it is the modern society, modern technologies, and everything Victorian is clothing style.
It just doesn't make sense, and not in the "wow cool magic" way, but in the "this is just a bunch of brass, gears, and pistons moronicly slapped together" way.
It's just a fashion statement.
It's cyberpunk devoid of exploring social critique and than recreating the style with gears and brass ane Victorian attire. It has no other context because applying the morals of early industrialisation to technical abilities that are possible today would be a real hellscape.
You can reduce any form of media to buzzwords and it'll sound like shit. Cyberpunk possesses a sort of prescient relevance that most similar genres lack, where steampunk will always be rendered derivative by its nature.
>Why is steampunk so hated?
i like steampunk but it's peak wewuzing, raving about a past that never existed
the fact your picture is a black man multiplies the impression, i can picture the guy be like "wewuz blade runner n shiet before the white man took it from us"
because steampunk is aryan and can be achievable with little advanced technology. just gears and steam power, very easy to achieve. very easy for the average man to grasp his head around and duplicate if he wanted to.
whereas the popular cyberpunk is completely incomprehensible to the average man and only mega corps would be able to produce technology related to it, basically ensuring we are never self sufficient and prefer a future where we are turned into literal zogbots.
Imagine thinking this looks good. Looks like some whack ass pirate, not steampunk. Doesn't even follow Victorian standards with a bustle or one of those stupid tiny hats. Try harder.
All Steampunk needs to be not so shit is just more subtlety. Not everyone needs gears all over them or look like they're wearing some costume like an butthole. Just look at what motherfrickers where wearing at the height of the industrial age, copy it and put ONE extra stupid thing on them, just one.
Because Chads stopped dressing like this in the 19th century. It is like the fedora and the trilby, not everyone is Donald Draper and the people who dress like this tend to be socially awkward.
Most of the steampunk aesthetic is useless and lacks utility or function. Again, like another Anon said, just have characters wear Victorian clothes and let the steampunk emerge through the mechanical inventions and Rube Goldberg-like machines and vacuum tubes n shieeet.
Basically. All you have to do with some examples would be like take Tarzan, and put an ornate prosthetic leg on Jane or take 20,000 Leagues and change fricking nothing. Leave the ostentatious, obnoxious shit like gears on everything at the door.
Necropunk has some potential, then again, anything arbitrarily putting punk its shorthand is trite at this point and automatically knocked down a few rungs.
It's as reddit as an aesthetic can be. You know it's true
Literally anything can be Reddit if you look hard enough.
are anti vaxx Q boomer chuds reddit? No, they are so powerful the state fears them and has to lock them up
They are the epitome of reddit
t. anti-vaxxer chud
it is tailor made for homosexuals
reddit aesthetic
do you not see the picture you posted OP
Literally cargo cult fashion
Just stick with Victorian era clothes
the concept of aesthetic in general is a problem and the obsession people have with image is a problem.
what i'm trying to say is clothes are moronic. don't spend a lot of money on them. just cover your bits. get them for free if you can. don't worry about it. nobody's watching.
>problem with aesthetic
You are sounding a lot like a fricking liberal arts major buddy. Aesthetic makes stuff pleasing to look at and keeps fat dykes out of the picture.
no it really doesn't.
i'm really trying to hold myself back here. you have no idea what grounds you're treading on right now. i went to fricking art school dude, i saw this shit first hand. your assertion that fat dyke b***hes don't love the concept of aesthetic is blatantly fricking wrong. i'm trying to be nice, but you're fricking me up here. and don't come at me with some shit about how i went to art school. i know what i did. doesn't make you any less wrong.
they have shit taste in aesthetics though, like steampunk. lib arts major is not gonna thing bronze age is cool or neolithic grug era, too based.
have a nice day in minecraft
>is that MACHINED out of SOLID BRASS!
that image of s oy men looks like that beatles revolver album art and i got Xcited
Because it's not a genre, it's an aesthetic, but people keep pretending otherwise.
I like it
I dont care what anyone says, this movie was kino and pretty funny too.
One of the worst movies ever made. Squanders more top tier acting talent than any other movie ever made. Just an endless parade of lame sex jokes and bad CGI.
See this is what I dont get. It's not any worse than any other Will Smith comedies. Why the hate?
You say that as if Will Smith is some kind of indicator of quality.
Anything that smells like adult men not growing up draws instinctual hatred from others in the tribe.
Bro it's shitty cosplay and everyone with half a brain who has operated a bicycle once in his life immediately spots that it's just random cogs and bolts glued to a fedora and some wacky Glasses

>you ain't heard? I'm steampunk now
>yea I don't know what that is man
>Jules Verne and shit
Took longer than I expected
It really shouldn't be since it is the healthiest way to prepare punk
then came dinner, and she served the bowl.. of hair
Authors, generally, mess up with history. The idea is that it should be the Victorian society with alternative technologies. Instead, it is the modern society, modern technologies, and everything Victorian is clothing style.
It has that public domain stink.
It just doesn't make sense, and not in the "wow cool magic" way, but in the "this is just a bunch of brass, gears, and pistons moronicly slapped together" way.
This combined with nerds in ill-fitting off the rack formalwear
It's just a fashion statement.
It's cyberpunk devoid of exploring social critique and than recreating the style with gears and brass ane Victorian attire. It has no other context because applying the morals of early industrialisation to technical abilities that are possible today would be a real hellscape.
Because it's just empty aethetics, compared to Cyberpunk for example.
>compared to Cyberpunk for example.
>Dude, cyborgs, dystopia, rain and neon!
its almost like its about high tech, low lives, in the sense the words "cyber" and "punk" actually mean something.
steampunk is always about rich high society types.
You can reduce any form of media to buzzwords and it'll sound like shit. Cyberpunk possesses a sort of prescient relevance that most similar genres lack, where steampunk will always be rendered derivative by its nature.
>overdone hipster trash
Also dieselpunk is better
Modern times suck though bro
if the genre ends in punk it's vapid homosexual bullshit
Belgian Congo punk
It's very liked by reddit and often overused.
But it's cool, if used properly.
Name once where it was cool.
wild wild west
>Why is steampunk so hated?
i like steampunk but it's peak wewuzing, raving about a past that never existed
the fact your picture is a black man multiplies the impression, i can picture the guy be like "wewuz blade runner n shiet before the white man took it from us"
because del taco never made the left hand of darkness
I prefer dieselpunk
What the heck is diesel punk
Instead of steam powering things, its grease and oil. Just another thing tumbling down the stupidity spiral of media.
Sounds gay!
Instead of Victorian era aesthetics it's 1930s mostly with airplanes.
because steampunk is aryan and can be achievable with little advanced technology. just gears and steam power, very easy to achieve. very easy for the average man to grasp his head around and duplicate if he wanted to.
whereas the popular cyberpunk is completely incomprehensible to the average man and only mega corps would be able to produce technology related to it, basically ensuring we are never self sufficient and prefer a future where we are turned into literal zogbots.
you got PSYOP'd if you hate it, basically.
Because it looks like shit.
Imagine thinking this looks good. Looks like some whack ass pirate, not steampunk. Doesn't even follow Victorian standards with a bustle or one of those stupid tiny hats. Try harder.
woah this is soooo much better
im like a ninja from an anime!
Unironically, yes
onions moron
I'm not that guy but for me this looks cool. Those high collars look great, sucks that this style is not common irl.
because you are ashamed of your face you ugly zoomer mutt
mudskin pieces of shit like you will gladly usher in the cyberpunk shithole dystopia
that's what a normal person would wear in the setting, not everyone is going to be covered in gears and such.
Looks like they swam through the bargain bin of some even more homosexual version of a Steampunk themed Hot Topic.
Whalepunk is better
That's not even a thing outside of Dishonored. But yes, it's kino.
steampunk is usually contrite and cringy, it doesn't have to be, but it is
>wot if tophat but with a plastic gear painted bronze?
it's a loved theme on reddit and unemployment agencies.
All Steampunk needs to be not so shit is just more subtlety. Not everyone needs gears all over them or look like they're wearing some costume like an butthole. Just look at what motherfrickers where wearing at the height of the industrial age, copy it and put ONE extra stupid thing on them, just one.
Luv me Frostpunk
Luv me Rise of Legends
Luv me Three Musketeers (2011)
Ate steam punk larpers
Ate cogs on everythin
Ate blacks
The picture basically answers the question
Because Chads stopped dressing like this in the 19th century. It is like the fedora and the trilby, not everyone is Donald Draper and the people who dress like this tend to be socially awkward.
Is that Jontron on the left?
everyday I find out about a new thing you guys hate

getting rid of plastic might be a good idea, because microplastic n shiet
so steampunk should be our future
Because autistic homosexuals have appropriated it, so no the genre is cringe by association.
Because it's utterly vapid and totally devoid of soul. It exists solely as an aesthetic (and a shitty one at that) without meaning or substance.
Cyberpunk is the only "punk" subgenre worth a damn.
Nah, solarpunk has some merit and also political depth. Unfortunately we haven't seen a long-form work of media emerge yet.
Necropunk has some potential, then again, anything arbitrarily putting punk its shorthand is trite at this point and automatically knocked down a few rungs.
>advertisements and control grids penetrating your every waking moment
>soul
we're doomed as a species
soul as in deeper meaning and actual justification for its aesthetic.
steampunk is gluing sprockets to a stovepipe hat, and has nothing to do with low tech low lives.
I feel like the only good Steampunk media was Arcanum (the video game), but that also had magic and israelite-gnomes trying to create an NWO so...
>Nigpunk
