Can't spell capeshit without shit.
It never felt like capeshit though. It was like the joker movie, the new batman and the old Bateman batman movies. It had a realistic and darker tone compared to the actual capeshit that appeals to children and manchildren.
It's good. It simply makes a fringe of philistines seethe bc it is wholesome and allegorically/visually beautiful.

Give it up, snydertard #4of13
FILTERED
When it came out most people just talked about how bad it was anyways
Cons!
> Not addressing the destruction.
> Execution of the tornado scene.
> Smashing the trucker's truck.
> Pa Kent not having enough positive/optimistic scenes.
> Pa Kent's "maybe" line.
> Clark accidentally taking Zod into Smallville.
Pro or Con depending on your subjective preferences!
> Killing Zod.
> Clark being genuinely conflicted about revealing himself to the public and the potential dire consequences of such.
> Fight scenes/battles are not short. IMO they are just the right length but some consider the final fight to have been overly long.
> No jokes breaking tension during the fight or life & death sequences.
Pros!
> Clark learning to fly + him stopping the world engine are universally praised scenes even among haters.
> Extremely well choreographed epic fight scenes.
> Simultaneously grounded in a realistic feeling earth but with a truly epic feel, scope & scale.
> Incredibly well crafted sets and outfits.
> Beautiful score.
> Flawless cast.
> Best, most competent, least overly emotional Lois Lane in the history of live action except MAYBE Durance.
> Zod is a great villain.
> Faora is iconic & sexy as frick.
> No homaging/copying/retreading the Donner films (aside from using zod)
> Fantastic Krypton opening.
> Some nice military porn without overdoing it or being "America frick yeah" like MBay.
> Inspiring despite the honest & slightly dour presentation of humanity being flawed. Scenes of the Daily Planet staff, the main solider & Toby from the West Wing being willing to sacrifice themselves are all well done.

Die.
I watched it and can't remember a single scene. Soulless as frick and Cavill is a wooden plank.
All I remember is the product placement and liking the Zod bits.
>people still talk
In this autistic circle on Cinemaphile maybe but if you talk to an actual every day person, they don’t remember it
They should have let Chris Stuckmann write the thing
Because they got filtered
Weird how The Dark Knight was considered not only the best superhero film but "one of the best films all time" (it's not, and Batman Begins was better). Now nobody ever talks about it.
Meanwhile we will still be talking about the Snyderverse in twenty years. Probably not because of their high quality, but there's a lot to discuss. They are interesting as art and interesting as a corporate product. Books will be written about them.

Sometimes I don't know if people really mean this or if it is actually satire
I feel like that's a pretty balanced take, anon. What do you disagree with?
>What do you disagree with?
It's not interesting and it's not discussed. Nobody remembet it or like it, let alone talk about it.
There is nothing to discuss. Like prometheus and similar dogshit flicks, it broke the mind of some moron who will seethe forever at people not liking this shit.
All the discussion is, was, and ever will be noting more than: "dogshit movie was secretly good!" -> "no, frick of moron" -> "yay, we are still talking about this!" -> "no, frick off moron"
It's less about the films and more their role in Hollywood, film as 'product' versus film as 'art'.
In the same way we look at the Golden Age of Hollywood and you have things like the Hays Code, you will look at this era of cinema (and wherever it goes next) and DCEU/Snyder will be fascinating phenomenon to dissect. It's a topic in itself, won't just be a footnote in "From Men to Gods: How the Marvel Cinematic Universe Changed the Hollywood Blockbuster".
Marvel propaganda.
When the next Superman movie comes out and it turns out be soulless corporate wokeshit, Man of Steel will be reevaluated and recognised as the ambitious cinematic masterclass that it is.
Because RedditLetterMedia said it was bad. Literally that's it.
i swear to god Mike saying it gave him a headache
I LITERALLY CRIED AND CLAPPED
Mike saying it gave him a headache was a pure Boomer moment.
