Because it perfectly portrays how minorities and women react when given an inch of footing by white men.
Spongebob, fills in for the role of the white man
Patrick and his 'parents' as everyone else.
Spongebob lowered himself to help ptrick up and patrick chose to stamp down on spongebobs head instead

It's correct but also the mindset required to make that connection is an incredibly pathetic one

You're comparing politics to spongebob, even if it's correct it sounds a bit silly
        I agree with it tho

Probably the same reason people get mad at "Bugs Bunny loses" episodes.
Can't handle the invincible hero being the butt of a joke for once.

Spongebob is not really the invincible hero

Because autists can't handle when characters are even slightly mean to one another.

It would have been fine if the meanness was funny, but it was literally just Patrick acting like a self-righteous douchebag towards his good friend Spongebob. There wasn't any humor, no jokes or gags or anything that could have salvaged the situation, and the whole thing ends without Patrick getting anything even remotely resembling comeuppance.

It's one of the earlier cases of Patrick being maliciously stupid. He's always been dumb, but this episode amps it up to him just being downright malevolently moronic at someone else's expense.
Not the only case of it, not even in the early seasons, but it's an entire episode of it rather than a short gag.

    Maybe because meanness?

Patrick’s so stupid that he forgot SpongeBob was pretending to be stupid, I would’ve liked to see SpongeBob leave him to dry with his parents and him basically self destructing without spongebob
