Why isn't Wednesday coming out until 2025? Why has the television industry become so incapable?

Why isn't Wednesday coming out until 2025? Why has the television industry become so incapable? They use to crank out 50 episode seasons every year.

I truly can't answer. we only get 10 episode seasons of everything every 2-3 years. they're so incompetent it's laughable

It's so weird. I guess that some of it is seemingly this film-like productions some shows supposedly have, but I dunno I think of old series like The Wonder Years which were shot well and tried to achieve historical accuracy

It's something else, like at the organizational level or how things get funded now

Like, Stranger Things has 8 episodes a season. I guess it makes sense there at least in that it's more like a miniseries or extended 80s movie, but that feels closer to the norm

But for comparison, From has 10 episodes a season. Lost, which From is clearly blatantly modeling itself on, so it has no excuse, managed to pull off 25 episodes a season.

My sister is one of those weirdos that dressed like Wednesday before the show got popular, she frickin hates that show because it made her style into trendy shit, she has returned to wear mostly black and use pigtails every so often, but seeing her radically change her look and personality to a certain extent just because of the Wednesday show was weird.

the writers don't want to be criticized by their lead actress again so they're trying really hard this time

    Well, there it is

Google search says "Shorter TV seasons are less of a risk for networks. Previously, a TV show could flop and have 15 episodes still to run, forcing the network to either cancel it midway and cut losses, or continue flogging it. With shorter seasons, networks can better respond to fan demands."

I like how they flip it in terms of what the FANS want/demand rather than what is less risky to the network

Because they know if they straight up say it's cheaper they will catch shit for it. Normally, actors could skate by just doing a series since their salary is based on a per episode arrangement. Less episodes means lower salaries, which is why you see them in so many movies/other shows, they need more work. Literally just israelite studios being cheap israelites.

I doubt anyone else is, anon. It'll set records

I mean, I agree that it's bullshit you have to wait a year now for 10 episodes of a show, but I don't think it's a death knell either until the last season was turbo shit like Yellowjackets. Sometimes shows get more popular with a longer hiatus like From.

It's ridiculous. They already know it's successful so there's no reason to hesitate with production or keep the season short. They should quickly churn out 25 episodes to have ready by Fall. I know they're capable

Who cares. It was exactly what is typical of modern day productions. All style. No substance. The exact definition of superficial. I enjoyed it, the same way I enjoyed Twilight: beautiful setting; That's it. It's something that you can look up at every once in awhile while you're making mashed peas. It's no different than looking at a Monet painting, but it cost millions upon millions more to make. Resources that could have been spent on educating or feeding the youth.

        >the same way I enjoyed Twilight
        >I enjoyed it
I agree but I care in spite of the first two points and because of the third one.
        >It's no different than looking at a Monet painting
I think it's very different, but I really like Monet
        >it cost millions upon millions more to make. Resources that could have been spent on educating or feeding the youth
That's true of nearly all of major Hollywood film and TV.
