Halloween only became "the most successful" when the recent Blumhouse trilogy came out and the other two franchises have been dormant for over a decade. Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th were much bigger at the time.

Are you questioning Freddy or Jason?

If that Freddy vs Jason vs Ash comic is supposed to be a sequel anyway, why not just keep tacking on characters? Can't wait to see Freddy vs Jason vs Ash vs Michael vs Annabelle vs Golden Freddy vs Leprechaun vs Pinhead vs Funtime Freddy vs Predator vs Alien.

Even people who don't watch horror movies recognize Jason and he's more powerful than Michael Myers

Friday the 13th Part III blatantly plagiarizes the beginning of Halloween II which only came out a year earlier

Friday the 13th was a blatant ripoff of Halloween.

While a rip-off of Halloween, it basically codified the entire slasher genre and explicitly took advantage of the fact that Carpenter didn't want to do any sequels to the original film. And when he did, the coat tail riding shit was in full effect: the kills in Halloween 1 were all bloodless and yet, by H2, there was a ton of blood plus the fact that with each passing installment, Michael became more or less a Jason rip-off in how he behaved and how he killed. To the point that Michael was in full Jason rip-off mode in the Blumhouse Halloween trilogy but especially Halloween Kills.

Why Myers would’ve been better. Jason is a dead a guy. How did Freddy make a dead man sleep. They also had pull a weakness for Jason out of their ass. Water. Since when was Jason ever scared of water?

        >Since when was Jason ever scared of water
The ending of the Manhattan movie I guess..
Many people point out Jason weakness as an asspull but the real question here should be on how Kruegger was able to take so many hits. Vorhees didnt even get to properly kill him

Rights issues. They tried years to get rights to Evil Dead so they could do Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, and when they finally were closing it, Bruce Campbell said in a brainstorming sessions, that he doesn't think Ash would die. Ash would kill both Freddy and Jason. The talks ended there lol.

halloween was supposed to be more grounded, relatively speaking. that wouldn't make sense.

But as poster above Jason is a dead guy. How does a dead guy go to sleep. And stupid fear is wate

Hockey mask and machete are more iconic than a dollar store William Shatner mask and kitchen knife

          so basically
          >my dollar store mask is better than your dollar store mask
after Jason had a bag with only one eyehole

Eh... sadly Ft13 has gone dormant so long (and the remake flopped badly) that Meyers has managed to eek out more of a major presence in pop culture at this point.

But then again, Ft13 has always been the black sheep of the slasher genre; it was a pure populist hit with fans, especially with it's codifyign the conservative aspects of the slasher genre where prostitutes and degenerates get killed while the virgin Stacy who stays clean and pure gets to survive. It never had a big name creator that created it, while Halloween, NOES, TCM, and Hellraiser all had higher cache and street cred with critics because they were the creations of big named creators (Carpenter, Craven, Hopper, and Barker).

The f13 remake was a pretty decent success actually, the only reason the franchise has been dormant for so long is because it was in a massive tangled shitshow of a legal dispute for years on end. Only recently ended.

F13 remake was the last good Jason movie, specially after the last few flops that were X, Jason Goes To Hell and Manhattan imo but wasnt it generally disliked by the public at the time?

              >The f13 remake was a pretty decent success actually
It opened well but it didn't have a great theatrical run, audiences weren't super into slashers at that time.

    >Freddy
Because Michael is not a moron whose scared of his own shadow, got penis shamed as a kid and is allergic to women's pussy (no wonder why Jasongays find him relatable, really) so there's really no way for Freddy to pull him on the Dream world.
