Why Shrek 2 is so bad?
It's not. You're wrong. You should be ashamed of your opinion.
>horrendous characters like Fairy Godmother
the only good thing is puss in boots, the rest is trash, one of the worst Dreamworks/PDI efforts ever.
Are you an autistic zoomer or something?
not an argument
>Definitely a zoomer
>Gives retarded opinion without any argumentative backing
>spams 'not an argument' at other people calling him retarded
Either bait or retarded. Maybe even both.
what do you want, a mathematical proof that shrek 2 isn't funny?
no, just an argument fow why you think it is beyond saying you dont find x character or situation unfunny
None of the jokes were good, they're all just outdated pop culture references to things from 30 years ago
Pop culture refrences dont mean the humour is nessasarily bad. They can still be relevant in a modern context. Shrek 1 was full of that shit and still held in high regard and so is Shrek 2. What esle homosexual
Okay but none of the jokes were good. You need me to go through the script line-by-line and point out that all the lines are unfunny?
>CHARMING: Once upon a time in a kingdom far far away, the king and queen were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. And throughout the land, everyone was happy. Until the sun went down and they saw that their daughter was cursed with a frightful enchantment that took hold each and every night. Desperate they sought the help of a fairy godmother who had them lock the young princess away in a tower, there to await the kiss of the handsome prince charming!
HAHAHA SO FUNE
That was not a joke though, that is literally world building. Not everything is machine gunner humor tiktok compliations you retarded zoomer
So when do the jokes start?
If I showed you I doubt you would understand it without a brap sound effect. Now please fuck off back to one of your nu-age social platforms
>shrek 2 has loads of funny jokes
>shrek farting at the dinner table
The point was that he needs loud sensory indicators know when he should laugh at some like all zoomer humour. Replace it with amogus and you get the same idea
the big bad wolf taking the princess' place is the first actual gag.
then there's Charming narrating his own adventure in third person, hyping himself up to an absurd degree.
>Anon is asked why he thinks the movie is unfunny
>Gives random quote that doesnt even read like a joke
>SEEEEE, NOT FUNEEEEEEE
retarded it is
You made the claim, we asked you to back it. Its on you to justify it homosexual
>a mathematical proof that shrek 2 isn't funny
Actually, in fact...
characters like Fairy Godmother
sounds like everything a Shrek movie should be
I'm convinced a sentient copy of a Shrek 2 dvd murdered OP's dog.
https://desuarchive.org/_/search/text/overrated boring unfunny outdated visually unappealing vapid horrendous characters like Fairy Godmother/
His dog got shrek'd
>17 anons agree shrek is overrated, boring...
Maybe because it is?
what's the chance that 17 true and honest anons described a movie using the exact same words?
Oh it's you again
>felt like the sharktalefag typed his hands in this.
I don't know how you can be a fan of cartoons and delude yourself in to thinking this isn't good
>homosexual in a mask
That pfp says it all on how valuable his opinion actually is
>Muhh Covid isn't real
Awww, he has learned to do green text snap back replies!
COVID was real but that trend where everyone was posting pictures of themselves wearing masks to prove that they have "the correct opinion" was retarded.
It's doubly retarded on Letterboxd where customs dictate that your avatar should be an anime character with a pride flag in the background
Oh it's real, you and the homosexual are just cucks for thinking wearing it grants you protection or moral superiority.
Covid was always real but it was always a basic ass flu that people ruined their social and economic lives over just so the government and corporations could have more control of you. It was literally 9/11 all over again except the fear of terrorists was replaced by fear of the common cold.
Shrek is a bit toxic in that scene around the start in which he makes it clear to Fiona that he doesn't want to go to Far Far Away and meet her parents.
If you ever get into a relationship, you'll know exactly why you don't want to meet her parents.
>Shrek doesn't want to meet Fiona's parents
>when he meets her parents, the dad is racist and tries to have him killed
>Shrek is in the wrong here
Fairy Godmother is a shit character
>this scene from a CGI kids movie is funnier and has better cinematography than most movies aimed at adults
The animation is boring. I know when a CG film is visually interesting to look at, and this isn't.
The animation and facial expressions are great and they make it very fun to watch.
The facial expressions are really disgusting and with no artistic or stylization sensibilities.
They do a great job at displaying the emotions of the characters in a way that feels natural
>resorts to twitter memes when you run out of contradictions disguised as arguments
Fuck off, this shit is constantly spammed in Cinemaphile ad infinitum.
And visually unappealing
Ah...so you are more of a digital circus contrast to the max kinda guy?
>I know when a CG film is visually interesting to look at
I don't think you know anything really. Listing things and saying you don't like them isn't knowing, that's just autism. Actually, that's insulting to autists. Any half intelligent autist would be able to provide a meticulous argument beyond listing things. You're just mentally stunted.
Man I agree that Shrek / Shrek 2 have fantastic writing and acting but they're ugly as shit
>every single character that speaks is an adult (besides Pinocchio, who is voiced by an adult regardless)
Not the first time that Dreamworks does this, but it's more noticeable here than in previous examples. That's a sign of something being wrong with the character personalities.
Man that's like every Dreamworks movie
You're the reason I don't trust anyone's opinions on this retard containment site. You just say something stupid, someone calls you out for being stupid, you say some dumb shit like "not an argument" and do it again cause you're a pathetic leech sucking upon resources we should give to someone more productive than you, like a quad amputated lobotomized dog, who could probably bring more to the table than your pathetic acne ridden ass could ever possibly hope to even achieve.
The whole appeal of Cinemaphile is being edgy on the internet, what did you expect?
Imagine getting this mad that someone doesn't like Shrek 2 of all films
>82 minutes and 50 seconds before the credits begin
A bit short, don't you think?
This movie is more visually appealing, expressive, creative and stylized than anything from Shrek 2
Yet it is so fucking forgettable.
>Teenage Tranny Ninja Turtles
>My shitty second rate CGI TV show is le better than this quality movie that I hate because I have no standards waaaaaaaaahh
Guy cant help seething in other threads about this movie.
Or maybe everybody but you realizes Shrek 2 was mediocre at best
Sure thing buddy
Or maybe this thread is just one ESL homosexual's personal Shrek 2 seethe station he made because he can't samefag on twitter
Wait, it's not Sharktalefag?!
It is, he's the only one obsessed with that shitty elephant movie and brings it up without prompting.
This movie doesn't have an script at all. It's just a bunch of scenes poorly connected between each others and with no cohesive narrative. Same problem with Despicable Me and Minions movies from Illumination MacGuff, but for some reason, those films are loathed in general but Shrek 2 it's praised when they share the same problems. Nostalgia behavior?
What do you mean? The plot is straightforward as hell. Is your IQ that deficient that you can't understand a bitch basic romantic comedy?
Describe the plot to shrek 2 in eight words or less.
TURN DOWN FOR WHAT
Lel, remember the days of "TDFW recopilations + swagger"?
Shrek 2 is the best Shrek movie
>Tusker, Tarra, Kavi, Dev, Kumar, Lotus, Sika, Mika
>Morgan Freeman, Jodie Foster, Garry Shandling, Dana Carvey
All the confirmed character names and voice actors of the "elephant herd on southest Asia" adventure film that was planned to be Dreamworks' next CG film after Shrek 1.
Why the fuck didn't they stay human at the end? Shrek loved being handsome
>during the climax, Charming tosses the wand to Fairy Godmother and then instantly dissapears from the film, only reappearing almost 5 minutes later for a very quick joke in the party ending
Biggest flaw of the film. You can't defend that.
When Pinocchio and the rest of the enchanted animals look down at Shrek, Donkey and Puss In Boots locked in chains at the bottom of the Turret, there are no visible windows. However, when Shrek looks at the Gingerbread Man and the castle he is looking out a window. What's up with that? Where did the window come from?
>door in the upper floor is closed at 0:42, but is now open at 0:58
Lot of stuff like that
>guards turn into a candlestick and a clock
blatantly ripping off disney
>Fairy Godmother at one point says "you couldn't just leave well enough alone?!"
Funny, given how Dreamworks milked Shrek instead of leaving it as a quality stand alone work.
Got to love same fags
I always thought this song was hype
I prefer the original version. This is my favorite song from the Shrek 2 soundtrack even though it's kind of faggy
PDI shorts created in the gap between Antz and Shrek 1. The director of Kung Fu Panda 1 (John Stevenson) has a special thanks credit on the third short.
Only PDI short created in the gap between Shrek 1 and Shrek 2. They stopped making shorts not long after Shrek 1.
PDI's most well known work before they made Antz
It's hard to care much about the scenes concerning Fiona's father when you know that he dies at the start of the next film. His development in Shrek 2 barely means anything because he doesn't become a recurring character for the rest of the series. He only has 1 scene in third film, doesn't appear in the christmas and halloween specials, and only appears in a flashback at the start of fourth film.
What happened to the bichon frise? It's gone in the rest of the series.
I understand Dreamworks having the first film compete at Cannes for the Palme d'Or, but not this sequel. Shrek 2 had no business trying to win that award.
>"PDI" division at northern California
>"Dreamworks Animation" division at Los Angeles
>The Prince of Egypt
>The Road to El Dorado
>Spirit : Stallion of the Cimarron
>Sinbad : Legend of the Seven Seas
Different studios. Los Angeles division only did traditional animation films at first, but switched to making CG films around the time that Spirit premiered.
>Harold asks "what am i supposed to do about it?" and Fairy Godmother instantly (and i mean instantly) tosses him the axe that Charming got with his medieval meal and says "use your imagination" before leaving
She could've just said "get the ogre killed somehow". Charming looked happy with the axe
I couldn't have made a better bait thread if I tried.
OP not only crafted the finest bait, but brought screenshots and quotes to keep stoking the fire.
OP is probably a bot.
Try rewatching this film only from Fiona's perspective. It becomes something else.
Maybe try watching it from a non-autistic perspective instead
The giant gingerbread man is my favorite character.
Shrek was an abrasive dick towards Fiona in that swamp scene in which he refuses to go to Far Far Away, meet Fiona's parents and get the king's blessing at a royal ball. Is he justified in not wanting to go? Yes, but he didn't have to be an abrasive dick about it. Dreamworks writers screwed up with that scene.
>"then how do you explain Sergeant Pompous and the fancy pants club band?"
He didn't have to make fun of the royal messengers in their face either
In the latin american dub (made in Mexico), he says "then how do you explain your parents sending the cast of Swan Lake?"
