Further yet, no one wants to create in-movie stand-alone lore anymore, everything must be connected to some book or comic book worshipped by a autistic fan base
I would have to disagree. These movies all have downer moments which ruins the comfy. All adversity I'm the mummy is tolerable and doesn't compromise the comf.

The Mummy is extremely problematic, it has not aged well at all. Hetero white male protagonist, white washing Egyptians, and a white male plundering Eastern cultures treating their history like his playground.
Egyptians were always white
The female lead is egyptian
So is her brother
Supports education & learning of other cultures
Punishes fascists (the mummy)
Kills a boomer who was involved in the "problematic" wars of europe
Knowing israeli shit can save your life
The religion of corporate consumerism demands brand name loyalty, hence the capeshit and spaceshit market saturation. It is like McDonald's, degenerate slop not fit for consumption, but it is fast, available and exactly the same every time, and marketing pushes it 24/7.
I cant think of a single actor right now with universal appeal like Fraser at the time. It also doesnt help that any studio with the budget to make it is just going to use the Disney Dome instead of shooting on location and taking the time to build sets and props. The creative process pf Hollywood makes it impossible.
Don't get me wrong but this is capeshit
I don’t have to get you wrong. You got you wrong.
it's indiana jones hatshit and it's great
because they'd have to call it 'the cisgender female parent'
Hey Benny! Looks like you’re on the wrong side of the RIV-ER!!!!!!
This movie is extremely comfy, one of my favourites
I recommend Journey to the Center of The Earth (2008). It's not nearly as good, but it has Brendan and the same adventure wibe as the Mummy movies.
Good recommendation friend, love adventure movies
no one wants to play around with lore
Further yet, no one wants to create in-movie stand-alone lore anymore, everything must be connected to some book or comic book worshipped by a autistic fan base
action quipfests? there are plenty of those every year
I miss young brendan fraser so much bros
just image all the depraved gay sex stuff they made him do when he was young
I can never put my finger on why this movie is forever watchable. Must be comfy.
What are some other movies that give this feel?
Men in Black (1997) feels timeless and comfy as frick. Avoid thr sequels though, they are not even close compared to the first movie
Second MiB sucked
Third MiB wasn't bad
Spinoff MiB was ass wipe
Jumanji 1995
Hook 1991
Toy Story 1 + 2
All movies from the 90s are so fricking based. How the hell did they frick up so bad today? Culture and creativity are dead today
It was the last thing really helmed by boomers. Then Gen X took over & everything sucks.

Poor trolling. Try again later.
This is the general perception of it for people outside the Cinemaphile far right bubble, same with Indiana Jones, particularly Temple of Doom.

This movie does no wrong
i don't know why but movies just started being pieces of shit around early 10s

'they' became Bino

Because Brendan Fraiser was molested & then blacklisted
