Why was That's So Raven better than Cory in the House?

Why was That's So Raven better than Cory in the House? Raven was really popular at its peak, while it feels like Cory's peak was that shitty meme

I think it was because Cory in the House aired in the exact moment I became someone who did not consume children's TV

nah corey in the house was at the peak of me watching disney channel and I still thought it was pretty mediocre. Like the dad was funny, corey could sometimes be decent, but everyone else in the show was boring as frick

I remember a time when That's So Raven was the closest thing Disney had to a SpongeBob. It was pretty big. It was even more popular than Lizzie McGuire, which only became a dead franchise after the movie because of disagreements between Hilary Duff's family and Disney

Then Hannah Montana came out and it became more popular than That's So Raven ever was

Why do morons like OP ask such stupid fricking questions and make threads that have no business existing. How bored are you?
Why was That's So Raven better than Cory in the House?
gee idk maybe because Corey in the House is a spin-off of an already very popular show. That's like asking why Planet Sheen wasn't as popular as Jimmy Neutron. It's a cashgrab to bank off of the success of the previous show. I just don't understand why morons need to be told this instead of just using common sense.

Family Matters was a spin-off of Perfect Strangers and that show was bigger than Perfect Strangers was

Family Matters was a fluke. It would be as memorable as Perfect Strangers if it wasn't for the fact they got lucky with Steve Urkel being a fan favorite character who went from being a side character to the main character. You remove him from the show, it's nothing. Just another generic family sitcom.

Anon is just a giant fricking moron. He's talking like it's an accepted fact that spin-offs are always inferior and never work or something. There are a metric frick-ton of extremely successful and highly regarded spin-offs of various tv shows. In the 70s and 80s it seemed like there were more spin-offs than original shows. Laverne and Shirley is a spin-off of Happy Days, the Jeffersons is a spin-off of All in the Family, The Facts of Life is a spin-off of Different Strokes. Practically every successful Norman Lear program was a spin-off of another successful Norman Lear program. This guy is just a giant idiot who knows nothing about television history

Neither of these Basketball American programs held a candle to Suite Life, a show about attractive young whites and a cute Asian who is now married to Macauley Culkin.

I used to watch that show and hump a body pillow looking at the blond in the plaid dress, brenda song, and the mom. They were all sexy in different ways, they complemented each other, and together it was a feast of sensual delights.

Corey in the House was a stupid premise and lacked a charismatic lead actor. Raven has always been a quizzically charming actress for some reason. She's not overly funny and she has never been remotely attractive, but I've never disliked her. Which is really strange, now that I think about it. She's just got tv show energy and my brain accepts her as a television actress.

I'm still baffled as to how Cory was a meme like 10 or 15 or something years ago. Did the Internet just get so bored they were like "lets pick this random show to become a meme" and ran with it?

the meme was to pick a random western show and pretend it was an anime to piss weebs off

Kyle Massey doesn't have the charisma for his own show and I found the "dumb best friend" character much more intolerable than in Raven's show. It was like a show that started with its shark pre-jumped, including the obligatory "cute" obnoxious little kid character. I'd watch a spinoff centered around her now, however.

I find it weird how these networks think that giving the "dumb best friend" their own show to be a smart thing to do.

When Patrick from Spongebob got his own show, it stunk. I mean, modern Spongebob already stinks, but a show mainly centering around the dumbest character in the series? Was never going to work.

It's like they don't realize that the "dumb friend" archetype works best when they have other smarter people to play off of.
